#208 reporting in to say I'm up that stinky creek without a paddle. I've experienced a dental problem this week with a root canal failure, my dentist tried a cheap fix, but as it's 1:30am and I'm up again in agony (3rd night in a row now) I think it's safe to say it didn't work which means I am opting to have it pulled and replaced with an implant.
I have a back up plan up my sleeve, dependant on being approved for the tesco fee free 0% interest balance transfer which will help me juggle the cost without hitting my pre-existing savings, but that does mean all my savings between now and 12 months from now will probably be thrown at the c/cards. I'm going to hang on in here for now though with a view to paying just over the minimum payments and chucking as much money as I can into my savings account in the meantime in the hope I can save up enough to clear the balance in full when the 0% interest period ends. I hope that will be ok? If I'm strict enough with my normal spending I might have the potential to still clear £300 a month into my savings and match the amount paid off the c/card, so I may still meet my target at the end of the month...
In fact I think now might be the time to raid my £2 savings, that will ease the pressure by almost £100!£12k in 2019 #084 £3000/£3000

£430 saved this month. Super pleased. Over half way there now. Hopefully should get a bonus from work in the next coming months, well fingers crossed, we've been told we are getting one, so hoping to boost my amount when that comes through.
Well done everyone. I love reading how you are all doing.

Should be able to save about £800 this month. Was nice to see my 2nd job's wages go in today.
I bought a year's car tax last month and it was also mine and my fiancee's anniversary, so was a more expensive month than usual.
Got my MOT at the end of July but fingers crossed my car will sail through! After that I can start putting more away.

Looks like our savings are starting to get back on track - they increased this month. Still been tough since we still had both mortgage and rent to pay in June. But that's finished now (tenancy agreement finished), so onwards and upwards. Will do all the calculations later but we should be back over £1,000 total saved for 2013.0

Another month gone by and just $500 saved. I have tried to save more, but we are keen to do some daytrips with the kids...We won't be travelling abroad this year, but have a camping trip planned. Every campsite around here has huge 'Be Bear Aware' signs, so if you insist on bringing food near the tent you have to double bag it and suspend it up a v v high tree. Likewise, the rubbish bins there have complicated locks to open, to keep the nosy (and hungry) critters away. Should be fun!

Managed a grand total of £505 this month - could have been better but the changing weather caused me to go on a couple of "essential" shopping trips - oops!
July is not going to be a good month money-wise - loads going on and HMRC kindly docked three months' worth of additional tax from my pay packet this month because I had been on the wrong tax code since April! Gah. Forecast is looking around £200 in savings if I'm lucky. But better than nothing!Savings in 2012 £3545

Thread is picking up again its brilliant, everyone doing well in their own way. Each to their own and that. Not sure exact amount for June but I'm at £6,000 at half way point, July and August are my big saving months though so aiming for £5,000 for them both will have me at £11,000. Love little targets and goals. This would be more but tax and insurance due!!:eek:Living frugally at 24

I've lent my brother £1k to see him through until his first payday. He's been out of work for 6 months and dwindled all his savings on running the house and looking after his little girl. But last week he got a call to say he got a job....at a very impressive £150k a year! With any luck I should get the £1k back within a few months and perhaps a a ticket thrown in to go and see him in Texas
so nothing to add this month for me
£20k in 2023 = £2718 £2023 in 2023 = £196.41 Grocery challenge £250= £195.80 **MONEY MAKES ME HAPPY**0 -
So another payday and so another update!
So this months totals look like this;
Standing Order - £1000.00
Regular Saver 1 - £250.00
Regular Saver 2 - £250.00
Online Saver - £582.04
Grand Total - £2082.40
Not too bad this month - have paid for some of the searches and fees for the house, so total isnt as good as it would have been - but house buying is always an expensive business, so overall I'm quite happy!
Not sure yet of the completion date or anything, so just going to plod along with the saving until I have to transfer all my lovely money over and then hopefully get the keys!!!
Everyone, as always seems to be doing really!! Keep going everyone! x0
