Reading back through the Thread - I hope the people saving smaller amounts aren't put-off by some of the big figures being reported by others... everyone's circumstances are different, so even if you're only able to save a small amount it's still really worthwhile.
Happy saving all.
I agree, I look and think 'how do people manage to save so much'
But as you say everyone's circumstances are different.
I shock myself sometimes TBH, I sit here thinking I'm only able to save Max £500 a month - at a push, yet recently, have done quite well - but my circumstances this year have not been like usual.
What I save now is like amazing (and I am so pleased), although when I first started working (P/T I'll add), I made sure I squeezed every penny!
It's all for the best thing in the world (Which is myself!)
Well done to all savers!Save in 2013: #166: 9,122.51/[STRIKE]5,000[/STRIKE] 10,000Interest earned in 2014: £257.61 20/04/140 -

I have to say I am surprised by some of the figures on the thread
They're huge! Some more than I earn in a month:eek:

Thanks to slowlyfading for updating the totals.
I'm surprised to see i'm at 51%. never expected that. This thread is just the incentive i needed. It doesn't always work for some though.... I do wonder why people join something like this yet never save a bean.
I guess the reason why some save more than others could be an age thing. Kids left home, mortage paid, etc. I've been cheapskating all my life, and had the rug pulled from under me so many times, so it's nice see to it paying off...eventually. Gotta live off something in later years, not much of a pension for me, so it's living frugal and more cheapskating, but still doing the things i like in life.0 -

I only have a small target in comparison to those of many in this thread. It certainly doesn't put me off to hear of the large totals, I'm please to hear of how well others are doing, and it motivates me to really work at my career. Only working part time at the moment (just finished school) so the big totals reported in here excites me for when I start my full time job in August, which should pay very well in years to come, and I will be able to then start saving/investing some larger sums of money. I just think if I can get into the right habits at my age now, it should really help in the future.

I'm a small amount saver £100 for me this month. Im just happy to see any amount in my savings acount. I'm full time housewife to two children age 2 and 1, age 24 and my husband only earns £16000 pa. and that's alot around here. So obviously were not gonna save thousands cos we don't have much left after bills and debts. But every penny counts.
If only I could go back to my 14 year old self at my first job and tell myself to save, but we all learn from our mistakes. And I'm defiently gonna make sure my kids learn from mine too!!"sealed pot challenge" member 082 6-£450 7 £860 banked :staradmin :staradmin

Starting off the month with £728.60 to take me past the 75% point0

Didn't hit my 50% target by end of June so have some catching up to do.
On a positive note had a letter off the tax man confirming a refund of just under £700 that should be with me any day now. That's going straight into my ISA. Tax code for this year is now much better as well after an amendment!
Well done to everyone else for some impressive saving totals.0
