#208 reporting in to say I'm up that stinky creek without a paddle. I've experienced a dental problem this week with a root canal failure, my dentist tried a cheap fix, but as it's 1:30am and I'm up again in agony (3rd night in a row now) I think it's safe to say it didn't work which means I am opting to have it pulled and replaced with an implant.
I have a back up plan up my sleeve, dependant on being approved for the tesco fee free 0% interest balance transfer which will help me juggle the cost without hitting my pre-existing savings, but that does mean all my savings between now and 12 months from now will probably be thrown at the c/cards. I'm going to hang on in here for now though with a view to paying just over the minimum payments and chucking as much money as I can into my savings account in the meantime in the hope I can save up enough to clear the balance in full when the 0% interest period ends. I hope that will be ok? If I'm strict enough with my normal spending I might have the potential to still clear £300 a month into my savings and match the amount paid off the c/card, so I may still meet my target at the end of the month...
In fact I think now might be the time to raid my £2 savings, that will ease the pressure by almost £100!
Brilliant Twiggy, you can do it, slow and steady wins the race:T0 -
Only £225 this month, and not even a 1/3rd of the way to target. I am still confident of hitting my £10k but it'll be very close!"Chuck Norris can remain solvent for longer than the markets can remain irrational"0

£960 to report this month, I really wanted to get to at least £1,000 but it wasn't to be
Still I should be able to save more in the next few months (hopefully), so think I will still hit target...

Hi Folks,
Can't believe we've reached the halfway point already! Lots of people still doing great on the saving-front, I find it hugely motivating to read.
Another month that seems to have been much more expensive than anticipated for me...bills including: deposit on no1 son's uni flat, tickets to see no2 son in a college musical etc etc. My final savings figure this month is £1106 - so I've reached 55% of my target for the year.
Reading back through the Thread - I hope the people saving smaller amounts aren't put-off by some of the big figures being reported by others... everyone's circumstances are different, so even if you're only able to save a small amount it's still really worthwhile.
Happy saving all.Save 12k in 2013-2014-2015-2016-2017-2018-2019-2020-2021-2022 - then early-retired.0
