Positive thoughts Cydney
I only declared £250 into my regular saver for May. Had a little holiday in Cornwall and bought a car :0
Have just paid in £250 into regular saver for June though and savings up to £3,550.
I sent off a letter to claim a tax refund last week and have had £100 confirmed in Quidco for the next payment run. If they come through and I can save some more this month then I hope to finish on target at the half way point. My target is £10k for the year, so need £5k by end June!0 -

So you are moving to my neck of the woods? I live at South Quay, Canary Wharf. Let me know when you get here and I shall take you out for a welcome drink. You are doing incredibly well and will continue to do so, I am sure.
All the best,. How do you find living in Canary Wharf?
Also, dont suppose you know anyone looking to rent a room/small flat?Save 12K in 2013, #203.

So... an update from me. My new total is £68,258, so I saved £698 in May.
But I'm not sure how this is possible. I did a quick tot up of my spending and it came to £586. Now, I earn £2,190 (after tax) per month, so I should have £1,604 saved. So !!!!!!???? And this is not the first month I've thought this. Where is my money going???
I'm no auditor, but by golly I'm going to go through my accounts and see what on earth has happened.
I have a lot of accounts and move money about to maximise interest... if I can't keep up I'm seriously considering having EVERYTHING in one account so that I'm not doing lots of transfers.Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

Tara iv done this once or twice(with smaller amounts mind you) and it is definitly true the more accounts you have the bigger a headache it is!! Soon though i hope i have your dilemmas of finding that missplaced money/money spent but forgotten about as that outgoings seem really low rather than a problem of trying to save anything at all. My £4,500 seems like peanuts to your total, i am catching up though and will be there in 2 years:eek:Living frugally at 24

Hi,
I love the area - fantastic mix of people, close to the river and loads of channels which cross the Island. It is a very attractive part of London. Oh, and we even have a farm complete with farm animals and several beautiful parks.
Canary Wharf is a fairly expensive area to live in. It is in Zone 2, but I am sure you will be able to find a room to rent. I will keep my eyes and ears open for you. Let me know when you are coming and how much you can afford to pay. I will ask my daughter who will point me in the right direction.

Lovely day up here in north east for working outside. Making £200+ per day, if I stick to my realistic budget iv made for the remaining 7 months this year I should hopefully smash this challenge!!:eek:Living frugally at 24
