Declaring may as £990. Very chuffed but that last £10 is really annoying me!

Have just sent update through unfortunately it isn't much this month just £145 but better than nothing. We have had a very expensive month, new toilet, car tax, mot and few jobs on it plus an expensive month food wise and have gone over budget by £40 on this alone.
Hope to do better in June but am on target so not to worried.
Good luck to everyone in June.

There seems to be many people posting this month about increased costs I.E MOT, Car Tax...myself included! Not sure if it is coincidence or not but months like this certainly make me feel like I've not made any savings gains this month.

Looking forward to a better month in June now everything is pretty much paid for. It is months like this when I should probably stand back and realise how much progress I have made, though those trainers still haven't been purchased!

Thanks to a quidco payment of £56 today and my half of the first rent instalment I've transferred £381 to my savings account today, that means I've paid back the chunk I had to borrow out of that pot the other day and brings my total so far to £500. Still a little under target, but I'm still hoping I can make up for lost time over the next few months and I have to remember that unexpected dental bill which is sitting on my interest free card that I'm now having to pay off as well (hard to forget given that my bottom jaw is still numb from the root canal filling I just got)! Happy pay day everyone! :rotfl:

Hi all, I'm reporting £993.12 for May (like nat21luv I'm a bit miffed about that last £6.88!!). Quite a few costs have conspired against me this month; 46.72 paying off our old electricity supplier now we've switched, 100.00 to get blocked drains cleared(!), 40.00 to get my laptop upgraded as it's been on the blink recently, 30.00 on a new dog-bed that OH says was 'definitely' needed, 136.60 on car MOT and maintenance, 100.00 on birthday presents, 127.76 on no.1 son's uni accommodation.... and then to cap it all I've been struggling to get around with a foot injury so yesterday finally took the plunge and bought a new mountain bike : 450.00 (must admit though it is rather beautiful).

Hoping the savings bug is catching with OH now too...she's started 'piggybanking' and 'paying yourself first'. Although I do wish she would stop spotting expensive-sounding garden furniture in the shops!

    Happy saving everyone.

Reporting £1190.90 for May, I am thrilled! :) One day overtime, a tax rebate from last month, and a break from all the birthdays in April :P And there should be one more day overtime next month so hopefully I can keep on target, although it will be hard to match May! Good to get it in the first half of the year though.
