GelMC - I know you didn't get your job but I really believe things happen for a reason - perhaps this wasn't enough for you at all and something much better is around the corner. I know things are on the up for you so its just a matte of time.. I would like to change mine but not sure what direction to go in...
Thanks Kat for your words of wisdom, I believe the same too and that it is not meant to be. It still upset me a lot though. I had a migraine aura without a headache on Friday morning because of the emotional stress of it. Does anyone else suffer with this? The last one I had was 18 months ago. My only symptons are the zig zags and vision loss, along with pins and needles in my hand then face/mouth an hour or so after. WEIRD, WEIRD, WEIRD.
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERBODY!:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T
Got all my favourite foods in and the Aldi version of B*****s / Irish cream is completely convincing. Hopefully I can stop shopping and start saving now! Watched Nativity this afternoon, on Beeb 2, and then the Snowman and the Snowdog - which I blubbed at.
Had to pay for MOT - £256 (got it fully serviced and valeted also) which I was happy with, and deposit on car insurance of £89 plus last few Christmas presents. I now need to let the dust settle in my bank account and see how much I can save this months for my mortgage deposit.0 -
Hi everybody,
Well I've had a couple of spendy days and I'll try and figure out the costs and amend my stats accordingly. I think it's safe to say that I've failed the challenge and have exceeded all my budgeted figures. I should manage to get to the end of December without any major purchases and so should still achieve the NSD though.
Current stats are as follows:
Food 27.62 / 50.00 (for 2 people)
Petrol 48.66 /105.00 (2 vehicles)
Christmas Food 20.66 / 30.00
Christmas presents 49.77 / 50.00
Unplanned spend 4.00 (Chinese lunch in the food court)
Unplanned spends 6.66 (Dentist)
Unplanned spends 18.41 (cards/ envelopes/photos/wrapping paper/bulb)
Unplanned-planned spend 27.86 (Post Office)
Planned spend 40.00 including Christmas tip (Hairdresser)
NSD 15 / 20
SD 9 / 11
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all,
and all the best for 2013

Merry Christmas everyone
Well, all in all, i didnt manage to keep up with this challenge, so am bowing out now. I dont feel like i have done too badly, i have woken up on Christmas day with money still in th bank, bills paid and up to date, and enough food in the cupboards until the new year.
So, definitely progress
Wasn't going to join Januarys challenge, but actually i think i will. Kat- this is addictive!
I have my sons 13th birthday in early January, but i dont tink it'll cost too much as e wants a TV for his room and aeady hs £30 toward it fom his Chrismtas gifts from the ex-inlaws.
I'll take him to the cinema too, but it wont be a big spend.
Anyway,i hope you all are having a wonderful day0 -
Merry
Christmas
To One and All!
What a very easy relaxing day we are having. Log fire is going, new leather gloves from Granny (she's a mind reading Ninja Granny ), perfume courtesy of Brother, a massive tea cup with !!!!! cats on it (plus the expensive rucksack last month ) from Ma and Pa... and I am a happy NSK.. especially as I wasn't expecting anything!!!
It's a shame we have people bowing out - I'd like a run through of why though. Something for others ( and me ) to learn from..
******GelMC - you are being ordered to the Dr please.. a migraine is one thing but dizzyness, pins and needles etc is a little more concerning!******“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent".0 -
Hey Everyone and Merry Christmas to you all!
Sorry I haven't been on recently, I have just updated myself with all that is going on while I am sitting in work on overtime believe it or not
So I have been in here since 8am and will not be leaving until 15.30, but will have a nice Christmas dinner waiting on the table for me and prezzies to open!
I haven't really kept on top of my budgetting on a daily basis but I do have all my receipts so may sort through all of that today if I get a chance so that I know where I stand with my monies for the remainder of the month/until next payday.
Have a fab day everyone!

Hi Kat- glad to hear your day in enjoyable
The rason that i am bowing out is just because i have lost count of NSDs and my grocery budget.
I presume i am over,but i have no idea.
I'm happy to carry on till the month is over, if you'd let me?0 -
Happy Christmas Day :santa2:
I'm not bowing out of the challenge even though I haven't done as well as I'd hoped, I'll revisit the front page and have a run down the list of goals and see how things stand.
You don't get rid of me that easily - and all being well I'll be here to have a go at the January challenge.
WantToBeSE - Just Keep Calm and Carry On
CandyCupcake - Hope you enjoy your Christmas dinner when you finally get it :T -
NSK - Sounds like you're having a lovely day.0
