  • Hey everyone,

So I am back in work again on overtime! More monies for me :j I'm in until 11pm tonight so no risk of temptation leading me to go out.

So for Christmas I have received enough toiletries to get me through the next couple of months woohoo! Along with several onesies to keep me nice and toasty along with the microwavable teddy bear and hot chocolate sets - get the idea people thing I am always cold??? :o

I've also picked up a few pennies of friends & family so this will be kept somewhere safe for if I do decide to treat myself. But I am aiming to keep it for when I go away in January.

Hope everyone is having a nice relaxing Boxing Day after pigging out yesterday!

  • Hiya all

Been a very busy Christmas but I am happy to report NSD 19!!!!

Avoided the sales, got lots of lovely xmas presents, for me, OH & DD... all from other people. OH and I got each other thermal socks (2 for £10) hehe. We got DD nothing as she is only 8 months old & everyone else went mental. She has no idea & wasn't bothered in the slightest. While all my friends struggled with nightmare babies overnight last night & this evening... she has been a peach :D

Candy - I know what you mean about people thinking you're cold. For me... it was half a dozen baking & cookbooks. I've had people raving over my cakes & roasts all year, now they provide me with recipes? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Gelmc - I had epilepsy as a child, & regularly get the aura's without a migraine or vice versa. Luckily for me I don't tend to get pins and needles but I struggle with the visual disturbances and serious dizziness. I had some tablets 'Zomig' - they were brilliant!! Get well soon though

Off to eat thorntons and watch MOTD :) Night all!!

    Hi everybody,

Not much to report here. I had a good Christmas day as somebody else did the cooking and organizing so it was a bit of a break for me, and it was all very nice.

I've discovered one downside to not doing Christmas dinner is that I don't have any leftovers to use up :(, I could have fed us both for a week on those :rotfl:, as it is I'm trying to use up random stuff from the chest freezer.

No spends on Christmas Day or today so stats below have been amended.

My mojo is AWOL today so I'm just waiting to get to the end of December so I can start a brand spanking shiney new challenge, just need to make sure I don't spend any money whilst I'm waiting- 5 days to go.

    Food 27.62 / 50.00 (for 2 people)
    Petrol 48.66 /105.00 (2 vehicles)
    Christmas Food 20.66 / 30.00
    Christmas presents 49.77 / 50.00
Unplanned spend 4.00 (Chinese lunch in the food court)
    Unplanned spends 6.66 (Dentist)
    Unplanned spends 18.41 (cards/ envelopes/photos/wrapping paper/bulb)
    Unplanned-planned spend 27.86 (Post Office)
Planned spend 40.00 including Christmas tip (Hairdresser)
    NSD 17 / 20
    SD 9 / 11

Hoping to feel a bit more upbeat tomorrow.:o

  • Morning!
The car passed the MOT although I did have to spend £6.50 on a new light fitting for the headlights - which the mechanic kindly repaired before the MOT commenced, had a full service and Car clean inside and out which all came to £44 as had a groupon - saving approx £247 :D.

I proposed to my girlfriend on Christmas Day - I bought the ring back in September! She said yes so thats all good.
Spent christmas day/night at mums house had the inlaws over - was a good old family day with loads of food/alcohol and games like chirades(however you spell it). The inlaws even paid our share of the contribution :j. Boxing day was much the same but at the inlaws.
Been given a cheque for christmas from an auntie that forgot my birthday so theres a bonus of £50 - might buy seat covers with this for the car as a nice young cousin of mine decided that vomitting in the car and staining the seats was a great idea at the time:(.
£300 left in the account - approx £65 of D/D's to go out around the first -dependent on orange phone bill.
NSK - I think I have now figured out where you live in the london area - If you are close to Horsham you must be in Surrey? Is there any chance you can publish January's rules early so that I can take a look and see if it will be possible bearing in mind current bank balance? :D
Hope everyone had a great christmas.

Congrats on the engagement Mancman!! What a lovely time of year to do it, as well!
  • Thank You
  • Good Morning Boys and Girls...

CONGRATULATIONS to MancMan. You must be doing something right sunshine if she said yes!:p:p:p..Well done...best get rid of that debt pronto cause I think you'll need to starting saving for a dream wedding...:p

However, you little weirdo I do not live in Surrey and I shall not be advising you of the correct area any time soon!:rotfl:

I shall publish January challenge very soon..maybe even tonight. I have the rounds of some Aunts and Uncles to do and shall be visiting MountainMum who has been spotted on here once and is ready to drop a sprog any day! Third boy - poor woman! :D

Oh Kerffufle I love your honesty.. I think a lot of peoples spends went out the window in this last month although MancMan seems to have taken more money in.:)..I am trying to be nice with Januarys challenge but I myself work better when there is little room for swinging an cat.. I think tight rules are great but factoring in people with children, babies, disabilities etc can be hard.. but I shall ponder over them again today.

Lilt I have images of your jellytot ( mummy laughed her head off at this wee name for her - she thinks its very good ) wrapped in Christmas paper with a big grin on her face. I am SO glad you are one of these sensible women who don't buy the littles anything cause they won't remember it..save your pennies for next year!

Your epilepsy sounds a hard thing to deal with - is it still evident now or did it dissipate somewhat with adulthood... sorry if that sounds a really stupid question...

Candy I am loving your present run-down. Although I am curious who may have bought you a onesie...frightenly unsexy but great for warmth and I can't say I haven't considered a cat print one..:rotfl:. (MancMan a possible engagement present for your finance...:)).. Glad your putting pennies away though for a trip. Not a bad thing to PLAN AHEAD. My most favourite two words! Lol!!!

WantToBeSE - get an old one, make is your purpose to sell junk, bits and bobs and get the basic kindle £69 from Amazon. Resign yourself now to only spend money on it that you have made on Surveys, Amazon, etc... Oooh exciting!! Would you be tempted..?

Abundant - there is nothing more glorious than a house to yourself!!!

Right I have to go and do my hair.....:p

    Onwards and Upwards!!!

  • Greetings Debt Destoyers!

Hope everybody has survived the Xmas period.....unscathed!

I was in Tenerife (I know....but booked before deciding I need to clear debt!). And I was very careful whilst there and used public transport to and from airport instead of a taxi! Food wise we were careful, buying in breakfast/lunch things and choosing restaurants carefully and watching the alcohol. Best of all was being able to leave the house in the morning in a T shirt and walk ALL day, so lots of exercise!..........and our central heating in the UK was switched off!

I'm really looking forward to the January Challenge and 2013 in general really.........I'm looking forward to updating my signature once statements are in!
I must, I must, I must bust that debt.....just found out here is a possibility of a temporary (3 month....but these things tend to drag on!) promotion at work.....so I am going for that, that'll help. :T

So sorry......for the Tenerife thing, no more trips until debts paid off !
  • Sorry NSK :o im not stalking :A I just know that Horsham is in surrey.
I got the basic Kindle for christmas from OH and its great.
Not sure about the engagement present as I am marrying into an Italian family we have epithany on 6th January ( 2nd christmas ) to contend with.
