Where do you get your parts from?0 -
Ahoy there everyone. Very sorry I disappeared again. I promise I have been keeping up with the challenge if not managing the few seconds I need to blooming get on MSE & post!! I am now up to a spandankling 15 NSD's.:j:j:j
I tried to catch up on the thread, read a lot about rice, then realised I should have been asleep 20 minutes ago as have overtime tomorrow :T this should net me another £70ish which is exciting!!
Went out for the works Christmas do which was the last time I posted, spent nothing there... did NOT fare so well on my GIRLS Christmas do.... Took a bottle of Champers that has been sat on the shelf for a year, my friend added another bottle to it, we drank a bottle and a half between us before the others even arrived, and helped it go down with quarter pounders and doner meat burgers..!! We then started on Jaegerbombs etc, and having started the drinking at about 4pm we finally left the house and went to a bar at 8pm! Cue cocktails, free shots, and my only spend of the night... £24 on a round... a ROUND!:eek::eek:WHY did I do that?!?! Probably because rounds had already been bought and shared between a couple of the other girls, and the one I was supposed to share with was conspicuously missing at the time of payment... Ah well. £24 was far less than the £50 I budgeted. I also got lifts to & from home so didn't have to spend the £16 on trains! I have only just recovered from the hangover... The last time I got drunk before these 2 parties was the 12th June 2010.... I hope I am forgiven!!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Bought my Christmas jamas, and the OH's. A tradition in our family, must have new pjs for Xmas eve... I have elmo jamas.. he has a moustache!! The OH has gone for batman pyjamas... :rotfl:Again though, £48 was budgeted but then the ones we were meant to get were out of stock... so a grand total of £24 was spent.
My MIL turned up with a hamper of all our favourite (expensive & out of bounds) foods for Christmas... I estimate it cost at least £40... Smoked salmon, brie, tins of biscuits and sweets... TWO cakes... The list goes on:D:D
Right. I am offski. Coffee and xmas shopping with a friend tomorrow (her shopping, not mine) Coffee is on me, gift cards ahoy!!
Night all!! xx

Hi everyone.
Not posted much lately but have been trying to keep up with every one.
Can report another 4 N SD this week. I must admit I have spent more than planned but less than I would've if I wasn't following this thread so thank you everyone.
Im actually going to have money left in bank (overdraft really) which is brilliant.
last day of work for the holidays looking forward to the rest and time to organize my finances and get the debt busting started.
Have a great day

Thought I'd posted last night
..mind, I was tired...wonder where it ended up
Before now I've spent quite a bit in CS for gifts. The Offspring went thru a stage of 'preferring' branded clothing & I got some amazing tops especially at really good prices, with the added benefit of supporting good causes :T Muvva (we lost Dad almost 20yrs ago) has been  that I could do such a thing but if I could get an almost-new sweater for £3:50 instead of £65, I & the recipient were more than happy. I'm not sure if they did/do know where their 'names' came from as they've never said.
I'm on 15 nsds thanks to waiting in for a phone call that didn't come :wall: (cloud=silver lining but still!) & want to get the fresh stuff bought today so there's no battling the crowds till after crimbly. Looks like I'm cooking at muvva's but with her cooker having been replaced in the summer it's not as bad as it could have been.
Hope you're managing to stay warm & dry, & good luck with the next few days of spending temptation

Oh dear
I'm going to have to admit total defeat on this challenge. Sorry Kat:( Was doing really well until about the middle of last week, when I had some very bad news about a close friend which derailed me completely.
I could of course dust myself off and restart, but tbh as I have no debt and very little mortgage, I have shifted my priorities somewhat to 'life's too short, live to enjoy a little' (all within my means of course, not going to be daft:eek:)
So bowing out, but wishing you all good luck (and Happy Christmas)0 -
12 nsd's thats the most I have ever managed in a month:T
Finished the Xmas shopping so I hope thats more or less it, just obvious things like milk, bread etc that I will get from work on Monday. Im not saying I have been good, the Christmas food has gone up, but I will be getting some of it back off my DD's and the fuel I put in the car was way too much, but I have to go upto the airport, (about 1 1/2 hrs away Xmas eve to collect DD2:)) and then I wont put any in until its needed, hoping it'll last well into Jan.
Well heres hoping everyone is keeping well and warm, my hot water bottles are working overtime:rotfl:

Well a good day to you all.. I am wracking up anoter NSD for my efforst of sitting infront of the fire all day on the internet. I am so sociable I am...NOT! Cat sorry things haven't panned out for you but we all buried in debt so need to sort that before we live a little - if you are not buried then I say start saving and find a post that suits your needs. Thank you for stopping by though!!
It has been a very quiet day in the NSK household today - fog is seeping in and covering the house so its super cosy infront of the log fire. I am in tracky bottoms ( never allowed back in London ) and have drank my body weight in tea. Lovely!!!
Abundant a super duper well done to you for 7 NSD in a row! I take it the rice cakes have been finished yes?? Where do you spend Christmas day? In answer to your question about after my debts are gone - I feel it might be answered for me as my landlady wants to move. If I can find a low cost studio flat in London ( :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:) I would love to live on my own but I would assume that if I share it would be better all round. Less hassle of DD from water / leccy and heating companies etc. Its great not having to worry about that it really it.. so I will continue to house share I think, unless some knight in shining armour takes me home to his castle...
So the best thing about being home -not cooking for myself, reems of nibbles at hand and bottles of Shloer...
I shall update soon... marking up another £40 earned through some online work for a friend...lucky me!!!
Onwards and Upwards my little chickadees...“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent".0 -
Hey!
Lol re.rice cakes. I have 1/3 pack left... then it's  forever!!!
I'd like to move to London - but probably not for a few more years as I'd like to be debt free and have some savings... but certainly before I'm 45. Gonna work really hard until then to make it happen.
Fog, log fire, tea, schloer and nibbles sounds great!!! Can we all get an invite next year please!!!

Evening!!
Abundant, fantastic news on the promotion AND the 7/7!!! Well done you! You defo deserve to go and see the Hobbit to celebrate
I have had an atrocious HSD...:eek::eek: Don't shout... I just spent £51.50 on MEAT. However, we have Turkey to serve 10 people (2 of us) so I foresee a lot of turkey curries/chilli & broth... Giant piece of pork (remind me to buy joints of pork more often, tres cheap!) and small lamb joint, plus huge ham to cook, 2 trays of chipolatas and 2 packs of streaky bacon. I think in all honesty I could stretch the meat contents of my fridge and freezer to the end of January. Maybe this shall be my own personal challenge? Answers on a postcard as to what to make with leftovers?!!
Bought a three tiered steamer pan in Wilko's for £10... my mum bought me asda vouchers for xmas to buy just that & some baking trays etc so I will just use £10 of the vouchers on food post xmas..
Also bought Jellytot some sleepsuits at half price in Mr S as she is zooming through her 3-6 mth clothes finally at 9 months... haha!
Work this morning was easy & fun, last day for everyone so it was a nice atmosphere. I got £80 from it, so all of todays shopping actually came out of extra money, not the budget.pleased with that!! Still got £150 in the bank & our financial month starts again on the 28th! Not going mad though... still got xmas veg to buy & no more overtime for me once I start back on the 9th Jan
5 NSD's to find!!
