    Good morning L n' L.

The phone conversation you'll have with the OR will consist of a few questions, it wont be a long phone call, she will be ringing you to confirm a few details ''Do you use your car for work?'' etc (if this applies) and also ask how you paid your bankruptcy fees. Please, please dont be panicking. OR's here dont really do telephone interviews, it is mostly postal.

When I discovered this site last year before I went BR, I worried alot about having a small surplus of income, as I read on MSE that they can take £20 as an IPA for 3 years. This did not happen and when I met with CAB I bombarded the guy with questions about things I'd read. He reassured me that the law is different in England than in Northern Ireland and he was quite right. The rules here in Northern Ireland regarding Bankruptcy are alot more relaxed and as I told you before, a friend of mine also declared herself bankrupt in October, she had £100+ surplus in her SOA and has not been giving an IPA. She spoke to her OR in Belfast just yesterday about a Nationwide account she held that had been closed down and the OR told her quite frankly that this is last she will hear from after she sent all the info she was asked for.

This is her story, have a look.

    Hi,

    thanks for the info.

Although i am now quite relaxed after starting this process was just curious on how the chat with the O.R. goes but you are right in what you say after you read so much on here mainly from mainland UK it can seem a bit scary so its great to have someone like yourself who has already gone through some of it which is of great help to me:)

    Thanks again JCG

Do you promise now to stop worrying? You cant go through life on 'what if's' just cross every bridge when you come to it.

All the best L n' L and if there is anymore questions refer them to me, I will help you as best I can. Just relax now and get yourself over christmas. OR's are busy people, so dont be surprised if you hear nothing this side of xmas. Always remember that no news is good news.

  • Hi all just wanted to say hello
I'd seen CAB back in July, had my house repossessed in September and moved into a nice small rented place Finally felt able to afford the bankruptcy and had my court interview yesterday afternoon. Was a little worried when the interviewing clerk went to search for a judge and said 'they don't usually need to see you'.
Of course, the judge did want to see me, but all was fine and he granted my application. Now I will just wait for my telephone interview and see how we go from there.
Just one quick question if anyone knows the answer? I have an old pension value £17,000 from many years ago listed as my asset. Can I say goodbye to this now do you think? Not that an answer will really help because what will be, will be!
I have gained from advice as well as bargains here, so if I can help in any way, I am only too pleased to do so and appreciate your thanks.

Hi manchestman and Welcome to December's BR Club. I've added your name to the front page.

Got my fingers crossed the OR's interview goes well, let us know how you get on and here's to your new start

Regarding your pension I'm not a 100% sure, so please do start a thread on the main BR board. You will receive more replies and help.

    Best wishes

:staradmin Hi Everyone and Welcome to the December's 2012 Bankruptcy Club :staradmin

This club is for everyone who has gone or going through the process of Bankruptcy during December's 2012. So please feel free to join and post.

Pop your name on here, the date that you went/are going Bankrupt and the stage that you are at now in your Bankruptcy. Then just keep everyone in the club updated throughout the next year about your BR journey. That way we can all stick together and compare notes and we will be there to support each other throughout the different stages in our Bankruptcy.
Remember this is your board so keep posting :hello:

Obviously anyone can come on here and post anything that will help us all and you are all welcome. Any important questions that need answering please still post them on the main board, as you will receive more advice and help.
Hopefully it will be an extra place for friendship and support as we compare notes and discuss what is happening with our Bankruptcies.

~ Please do not include too much information as the IS (Insolvency Service) are known to frequent this forum and they may identify individual cases, so username and date only, thank you ~

    Best wishes
