  • Just to give you an update.

Arrived at the Court and waited about 20 mins.

I would say the meeting lasted amout 1-2 mins max.

I was asked if i sought advice - yes

I was asked if i owned my own house - no

Was told O.R. would be in touch and if i complied with them i would discharged in a year.

    Very straight forward:T

  • I take it that its the O.R. who decides if you need to go on an I.P.A?

I think it's the same as here and the OR decides.

Which debt charity helped you can you ring them to find out what happens next? Do let us know too xx

  • Hi Live n' Learn I also went BR last Sept in Belfast.

Yes the OR does decide whether or not to give you an IPA although these are few and far between over here. A Colleague of mine declared herself BR at the start of October & had £100 surplus,in her SOA, the OR sent her out some forms to sign to keep her car for work etc but nothing was mentioned over the surplus. I'm sure CAB already advised you that they arent really as strict here as they would be in England & Wales and I found the process so straight forward that I was waiting on something to happen but nothing ever did.

If you have any question at all, dont hesitate to p/m me. It could be a few weeks before you hear anything now from the OR, I also didnt own a house or have a mortgage so I think once they get the forms out to you and you sign everything that'll be the last you'll hear from them.
