Keep chasing them up for the statements and make one claim for all your charges.
  • thanks for the quick response... guess I'll just have to wait :(

I have had to wait about 2 months so far for the information they have sent me... hope they are a bit quicker getting the rest to me.

    Thanks again

Keep calling and pestering them for your statements.

I applied for statements a few weeks ago and was told I would have to wait 40 days until they sent them to me. This is obviously a delay tactic but don't know what to do now anyone any ideas ?

    Hi all

I originally posted this in the '40 Days and still nothing' thread but had no replies - can anyone help me?

I have a slightly different problem in that Abbey National have responded to my request for the charges info within the 40 days, but on going through the statements last night I realised they've only sent me 2 year's worth!

Has anyone else encountered this problem? If I go back to them, are they going to try and charge me another £10? And are they entitled to?

    Thanks

    Hi

I have been helping a friend with reclaiming his Abbey charges and this happened to us - except they sent three year worth. I wrote a letter requesting the remaining statements, then a Letter Before Action, and finally filed a claim at teh Small Claims Court.

I have also submitted a complaint to the Information Commissioner's Office (for what it's worth!!).

I have heard from the Court that Abbey have acknowledge the Notice and intend to defend the claim....

    That will be interesting!
Bank charges reclaimed - FirstDirect - In Full £330 :j

    Halifax - In Full - £3533 :T :j :T :j :T :j

    Still awaiting - MBNA
  • what action if banks do not provide statements
Took me 6 months to get my microfiche records...that was only because the financial ombudsman got involved...when I did get them they were in a ripped brown paper bag and sent using a second class stamp.....something tells me they dont want to let you know what they have charged you over the years.

please can any one advise me what i should do? abbey sent me statements for 2001 2003. but from 2004 2006 they sent me a summary of my bank charges not the actually date just month and year ,my claim is for £4,756.50 with interest from 31/10/01 9/3/03 interest is £1,035.47 leaving out interest for 2004 2006 . i had bank charges of £2.254.00 IN THAT YEAR. BUT UNABLE TO BUT INTEREST ON IT. i am due to file my claim in the courts today, should i continue with the claim or get back to abbey asking for my statements so i can claim the interest for 2004 2006. advise gratefully appreciated. I have just looked up on the web site seems you can go to the obudsedmen instead of mcol, which is the best way to go? i have already filed one claim on line with alliance leic.

You should not file a court claim without knowing exactly what you are claiming for.

You need to report the matter to the Information Commissioner to get the information you require. However, his staff are as inundated with complaints as the banks’ and credit card companies’ are with SAR’s.
