Abbey statements

Hi Will&Claire,
Have you tried emailing them? I waited 78 days for my statements then i found emailing them helped..kept annoying them with emails and my statements turned up.
Its worth a try, but (there is always a but) ...
How do you know that it was the e-mail bombing that made them respond and not just that they finally fought their way through the mountain of requests to yours?
I am not accusing anyone of doing this, but it is all too easy to set a "rule" to automatically delete e-mails from a particular sender. The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.

Hi
A little advice needed here please sent of a letter for statements on 5th April and recieved all statements from 2001 to 2004, however this was not what I had requested, Original request was for 09/05 to 05/06 which I know was the period I incurred some charges. Anway I rang them and informed them of their mistake and was told they would now charge me again  and take a further 6 weeks to process, sounds like a delaying tactic to me.
Question is can I now claim that £10 back as well?
Anyone one else had this problem, and should I now send a letter of complaint to the financial ombudsman ?
Any help appreciated0 -
Escalate the matter to the Information Commisioner. The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.

How do I now escalate to the information commissioner having a bit of a thick moment I'm afraid0

Its late, I understand.
Just write to him (there must be an address for him somewhere on this website or Google), enclosing copies of any letters, and telling him that you asked for ... but were sent ... instead. And don't leave out the bit about them wanting to charge you again! (That is brilliant - only a bank could even think of doing that!)
However, the IC's poor staff must be every bit as snowed under as the banks. And there are how many banks these days and only one IC!The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.

We sent off our first letter and cheque to abbey national, they took a very long time to reply and the day before they did we had a letter saying they had decided not to renew our overdraft this year!!! We have had our overdraft for years now and never had this before. Also they only sent one months worth of bank statements. What should we do next? Many thanks in advance0

also i forgot to mention we didnt actually request the statements just a breakdown of the actual charges.0

Wait a few more days as I notice in the past that letters come in batches from them. Otherwise you can ring them.
RE overdraft, when you reclaim the bank charges they can close your account down so I would get a backup account incase this happens."He's a maniac, maniac that's for sure,
He will kill your cat and nail him to the door"

Hi all,
My first post on these boards, although I have been reading them for quite a while
I have requested a list of charges from my bank with the standard template from this site. I have recieved statements for the last 14 months as this is all the bank apparently keeps on record, however, with these statements I got a letter saying the rest of the 6 years would be arriving seperatly in the next few days. I waited about another 3 weeks!! And finally they arrived. I opened them up and started to go through them, only to find I was missing all of 2004, 2005 and the start of 2006..... damn banks! I have today phoned and they are going to send me the rest out in the post.
What I want to know is, I'm desperate to get this off the ground as I've been putting off doing it for a while now. So, should I start claiming on the information I already have or should I wait for the whole lot to arrive (which will probably be another month or so knowing Abbey!)
Thanks for any help

Hi there!
Im on court stage of claim against Abbey.
They do take cheques to pay for statements as this is how I paid for mine so I would say this is a stalling tactic.
When I did get my statements the past three years arrived in seperates (lots of sacrificed trees!) and were regular statements and the microfiche ones (the other three years) were lists of charges and dates and arrived in a big bundle package.0
