Not sure about my credit card payment though. It's saying minumum payment is due by 14/02, and I made a payment a few days ago of £60. But if I've set up a direct debit for the minimum payment, that will still come out even if I've made a payment, won't it?
Maybe not. I've got DDs set up for the minimum payment on both my Barclaycards and they don't take the payment if I've paid over the minimum before the due date. If I'd paid less than the minimum, it would only take the difference between that amount and the minimum.0 -
I will check it on the due date and the day after. Will make another payment if the dd doesn't go.
Check me out, two overpayments in one month :TCan't think of anything smart to put here...0 -
            Morning Diary

Well direct debit didn't go out for my credit card, so I just made a payment of £50, taking the balance down to £2760.38 :T That means I have paid £110 this month. Aiming for £160ish a month. Don't want to spend all my spare cash this month though, need to get some things for the house to make it water tight
.
Hoping next month will be a better month. Last month we were almost £300 into the overdraft. So next month we should have an extra £300 to pay off the debt :T
I need to talk to DH tonight about our spare room. We used to have a bed in it, we had friends over to stay etc. Then DH wanted to use it as a workshop to repair and build guitars. That was fine, we got rid of the bed and drawers, bought a big table and some cabinets for DH to use. Except he doesn't use it now
I've said to him before and he got all defensive, like I was trying to take away a toy he didn't use but didn't want to part with. Sigh
I want it as a sewing room! He keeps telling me to sew more, to use all my lovely fabrics etc, but it's hard to make stuff when I'm using the kitchen worktop or the ironing board! Might just make a start clearing it tonight when he is at band practice :rotfl: Can't think of anything smart to put here...0 -
            Morning Diary :j
Monday again, the weekend just goes so fast!
Managed to get two car loads of stuff to the dump on Sunday, that's part of the shed cleared out. It means you can now stand inside the door rather than just reaching inward and trying to grab what you need :rotfl:
I had been storing excess food outside, decided to bring most of it inside as I was losing track of it all. Found 7x 1kg bags of pasta, about 12 family sized jars of Ragu sauce, and the rest of my cases of tinned tomatoes, think there is about 40 cans left. Only one pack of toilet roll left, can't believe I'm going to have to buy toilet roll for the first time in about 6 months!
A few small spends at the weekend, a few pounds in Tesco getting mayo and savory rice. Bought a light fitting at B&Q, only £3 odds. Bought two light shades for the hall as well, £14 for the two.
We have about £50 left of our excess money. I get paid a week on Thurday, I can do this! 10 days to go!!Can't think of anything smart to put here...0 -
            Morning Diary,
Well, we aren't looking too bad on the money front. Went to Aldi and tesco yesterday, bought a bit more than we planned
Spent £50 between the two, my budget for the week was £30, oops! I did buy a few things that I didn't need because they were on special offer and I had a voucher for them. Like dog food, the bag of Iams was £10.49 down to £7. I had a voucher for £1.25 off, making it £5.75. So money saved from next months budget, but it's taken me right to the wire
Oh! I made my first birthday present!! -
Gave that to my niece for her birthday yesterday, she was 1

Well all the weekend spending has been taken out the bank, total stands at.............. Drumroll please!..............
£10.31 in CREDIT!
Woohooo! Think DH is putting the £10 into the car cos we need fuel, that will leave me 31p in credit :j
We just need nothing to break, nothing to go wrong, nothing, and I will have achieved something I never thought possible, out of the overdraft for one whole month :TCan't think of anything smart to put here...0 -

            Afternoon all
Managed to do my March budget last night. Will all the bills paid, rent and money paid to my sister, including the food budget and fuel budget, we should have £194 odds left in my wage.
This isn't including cigarettes for DH, I've told him he needs to buy his own, I can't include them in my budget anymore. I honestly don't know how we have afforded then before now tbh.
No wait, I do know how we have afforded them, my overdraft
Ah well, not any more! Can't think of anything smart to put here...0 -
            Hi Diary,
Well it's been nearly two weeks since I've last posted on here.
I can feel myself 'slipping' again. Not spending, just... Not paying as much attention as I should be? Becoming rather complacent, wasting food by cooking too much or not using it up, using the car unnecessarily, having the heating on too long or when I'm not home
Need to get a grip on myself!!
I had to put £10 in my nephew's birthday card today as well (not that I grudge him the money!) but I only gave him cash cos I didn't order something online early enough using my swagbucks/amazon vouchers. What a silly stupid thing to do!
Need to get more organised!!Can't think of anything smart to put here...0
