But OP was asking if she could argue that she did intend to pay until lost her job to get out of the fraud allegation.
It won't wash...she could still have sold the handsets and put the proceeds towards the contract. Or even sold on the contract.
The OP is not interested in the losses incurred by the network and it's shareholders (if it's Vodafone, I must declare an interest), or the poor saps who bought the handsets. Only in the damage to her credit file and ebay account, which was the motivation for posting. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Just realised:
iPhones can be blocked by the IMEI number due to contarct breaches. Have a look on eBay at the number of blocked iPhones.
Its Apple that block the phone not the network provider.
Other phones cant be.0 -

If she was charged with Theft By Deception it might be a defence had she had a job at the time with an income to support the payments...however it seems thats not the case as she ordered them after she lost her job.....

Wow thanks for the insult.
Forgive me for wanting this pondlife to get their comeuppance and the relevant authorities to get involved.0 -

Oh, come on - it was just a little humour. I did at least make sure I didn't say anything I'd consider to be properly insulting.
I actually agree with your sentiment - I hope the OP does feel the full force of the law. Not that I'm unsympathetic to her predicament, but people can't just go around stealing/commiting fraud/selling stolen goods, etc... I feel sorry for the poor sods on eBay who paid a lot for a useless phone and now look as though they won't get their cash back.0 -
Is there any way you can borrow money off family to pay back the debt's and arrange a payment plan with them?
I cannot believe someone would actually try this but it's now done.
Not trying to frighten you but do be prepared for the Police to contact/visit you over this, there could quite possibly be criminal charges to answer.
Telling your family may be a good idea.Wow, I got 3 *, when did that happen :j:T:p
It is not illegal to open another persons mail unless you intend to commit fraud - this is frequently incorrectly posted
I live in my head - I find it's safer there:p
