You've every right to to be annoyed but I can't help but feel sorry for her, too. It sounds like she needs help addressing self-esteem issues and I hope she does get to do that. It's going to be a big elephant in the room for a long time, which won't help.

Well, she has apologised this afternoon. Her dad called to let us know she had admitted everything to him, which I was quite surprised about to be honest! He said she's feeling too embarrassed to talk to me herself but he went on to explain that she's the only one in her group of friends who either doesn't have a boyfriend or hasn't had sex yet. She just feels a bit left out and wanted to have something in common with the people she hangs around with.

I did wonder if that was the reason she wanted to lose her cherry. I hope her mum takes the opportunity to sit her down and have a chat about how it can be nicer to wait until you have found a nice bloke.
  • I completely agree Hermia. Plus, when I was 17, so many people in my class/year at school lied about having sex... What's there to say her friends aren't doing the same thing to pretend they're "cool" and grown up?! She needs to wait for the right person and the right time. It's not a race.

Sounds like the two of you deserve a weekend totally spoiling yourselves - bubble baths, favourite foods in bed, night out somewhere .....weekend away if you can afford it. :)

  • That's a good idea Fire Fox! It's our wedding anniversary on Saturday so we're going to try and have a night away somewhere.

I made the mistake of telling him we can do whatever he wants tonight... We're now about to start watching some kind of Ashes highlights DVD from when Australia last won a few years ago (he's an Aussie).

You gave him a choice of anything and he chose Cricket!! Well then explained it by saying he's an Aussie,I'm glad the truth came out in the end with your cousins family you seemed to have dealt with an iffy situation very level headed.
Life is like a bath, the longer you are in it the more wrinkly you become.

Listen ! If this girl is old enough to try and seduce your husband (and terrify him in the process) she's old enough to have her clothes packed in a suitcase and put in a taxi to the nearest train station to find her way home on her own.
