She was wandering around her castle (as you do) and came across an ironing board. She had to ask a member of staff what it was as she had never seen one before. She was quite old at the time of the story too.[PHP][PHP

No not royal(wish I had their money though!:rotfl: ) Just rubish at ironing DH thinks its deliberate but I ask you would I??:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Confession time before we were married I had a cleaner who used to do it for me and prior to that there was an ironing service that I used to use:oI did have two jobs and was really busy HONEST!! My long suffering DH always irons his school shirts(and pretty much everything else to be honest) Years ago I thought i'd be helpful to my then boyfriend by doing his ironing. Anyway the first thing I picked up was his trousers(please bear in mind that my dad died when i was just turned 7 so no males in household!!!)So, anyway I spent ages doing them and was very pleased with myself(had used brown paper and spent AGES on them)Folded them VERY happy. He comes screaming into the room shouthing "what in the name of God have you done to my best trousers? and other things not for repeating! I had ironed the SIDE seams AND he got into loads of trouble as when his mum stopped cracking up she told him off for speaking to me like that!!:rotfl: DH thought it was dead funny that I put an iron on our wedding list, but like i told him only the best for you darling!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Annie :rotfl: :rotfl: You did make me laugh. My XBIL wore a three-piece suit to work and my DS was useless at ironing so he did his own - except he just ironed the collar and sleeves of his shirts as you couldn't see the rest for his waistcoat! :rotfl: That's my kind of ironing.
PenPen if you read this, the veg biryani is delishhhhhh. Didn't get round to the carrot & ginger soup. Got enough biryani left over for at least another two dinners. :j I will be doing some more recipes from the book though as I have a lot of *fresh* (for that read "not quite crawling out of the fridge to the bin just yet") veg that must be used up soon.
Crazychik if I were you I would e-mail the girl saying that you are glad to have been of help to her and you don't mind keeping in touch but she should realise that you are *very* busy and so she shouldn't necessarily expect an answer from you soon each time she writes to you. With any luck you will have a new friend, but on your terms."Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

Evening All
Birthday Wishes Hillstep
At home but not getting anything done as trying to do as I am told (who me never been known before!!)
It's no good having a week away, you haven't a clue what anyone is on about, or is it my memory with age!:o
((((hugs)))))) as wanted.
Another one here, who isnt sure of one end of an iron from the other. My excuse is I have had a cleaner/ironer for the 20 years, but that will stop in June when we take early retirement :T :T :j :j . I am sure I can persuade DH he makes a better job of anything in the house but the ironing, I#m already banished from cleaning windows, and he thinks the hoover is his (who am I to argue).
Take care

I responded to her email from this morning, and said I was sorry for the delay of replying, as with work, children & housework, Im very busy!
I daren't look to see if there is a reply. She seems harlmless enough. (10yrs younger than me) From what I gather, her family lives 200 miles away, so it could be she may be lonely. Which I can understand. I will ride this one out and see where it leads!
