Two loads of washing for DD(21) are on the line as are three loads for us!

Making jacket potatoes, salad and spicy chicken pieces for tea.

Had gas fire in living room taken out as it was on its last legs - well actually it was whimpering with its feet in the air - lol!

Getting DH to take me for a new fire as soon as I can talk him into it.

DD(18) has just won some money on the premium bonds so she is delighted!

Need to go feed family so hugs to all!

    What's an ironing board???

annie you're not royal are you? Your question reminded me of a story I read a while ago about the Queen Mother. She was wandering around her castle (as you do) and came across an ironing board. She had to ask a member of staff what it was as she had never seen one before. She was quite old at the time of the story too.

Actually I think it's an Annie thing. I absolutely detest ironing and refuse to give up hours of my time ironing stuff just so my delightful children can throw them on the bed, the floor, the chairs, anywhere except where they should be. So, I iron a little bit every day but only what's absolutely necessary for that day.

Rage is the book the same as the tv programme "Messiah" with Ken Stott in it? I thought the programme was great. If it is, can you please tell me the author as I may reserve it at my library? TIA.

Aril sounds like you got a real bargain. :T

The vegetarian biryani is simmering away as I type but I have had to adapt the recipe a bit as I didn't have a couple of the ingredients. Smells yummy though. Didn't get round to the Carrot & Ginger soup as the Monopoly marathon went on longer than I expected but I was the winner with a total of 15 properties and £13m in the bank! (Its the new electronic one where you start off with £15m instead of £1500.)

All the jobs are done that needed to be done today so I think DS, DD and I will put our feet up and enjoy a nice game or watch a dvd together. xx

    Afternoon everyone :hello:

    Happy birthday to Hilstep2000 :bdaycake:

I came online this morning, wrote a long message, hit submit and the site crashed AGAIN! I don't think it's my connection.......... or maybe it is, with DH ensuring that I don't get to post much.

Well, my new job officially starts tomorrow. :j :j I'm quite looking forward to it - getting to know a new set of children. The school does seem SO much better than my last one. Even the head isn't much of a battleaxe! For my new job, I've also invested in an A4 Pukka Pad! I'll be ultra-organised now. :D

I've also seen that my *perfect school* to work in is advertising for staff for September! :j :j I'll obviously be applying.... fingers crossed they like me enough to give me a job. I did LOADS of supply there last term and the deputy head always asked for me to cover her class. The job that I start tomorrow is just for a term, so the timing is perfect!

OS wise, nothing much is getting done, other than cooking from *nearly* scratch. (we've got a Chicken Tonight sauce tonight. :o )

    Breakfast: Porridge
Lunch: Quiche (from Farmers' Market on Sat), yoghurt and banana
Supper: Honey & mustard chicken, new potatoes, steamed veggies.

    Catch you all later

    Hi all!

Purple Princess - good luck with handing in your notice next week. I did it six months ago when my workload increased and my pay didn't and my stress level increased and my 'me time' didn't - well, you know what I mean!

    Debtfreehopefully - congratulations on the baby!:j :j

Stressedout and Busygirl - hope the day has improved for you both:A :A

PennyPincher - glad you're feeling a bit better and hope you feel even better tomorrow!:A :A

Moggins - good to hear from you and glad you are enjoying your new-found freedom!  :j

elona - that's two premium bond winners on the thread this week! Let's hope it continues and we all get a win. I don't often buy a lottery ticket but I've got one for tonight in case the luck has rubbed off! I'm sure OSers will be the first to know if it has!:rotfl: :rotfl:

Vicky - good luck at school tomorrow!

Anniestar - I've actually finished my ironing! It has taken about forty-eight hours since I tackled the same pile! I've decided that, to avoid ironing in the future, I won't wash any more clothes!:D :D

Well, dinner tonight is something I've invented with sausagemeat mixed with mustard and Worcestershire sauce and breadcrumbs, bashed into size to fit the dish with streaky bacon laid artfully on the top, with jacket potatoes (was meant to be mash but I couldn't be bothered to peel the spuds!) and salad, but DH will want some beans with it so I'll have to open a tin as well!

Weather has been lovely again and have got two loads of washing done (mind you, I won't be updating that side of things once I've stopped washing clothes, will I?)

Have taken piccies ready for listing on eBay tomorrow!

Have checked bank accounts just to see if LloydsTSB have decided to pay what they owe my DH - they haven't:o :o but we're seeing it through to the bitter end!

OH has just phoned to say he won't be in till 7 o'clock because he wants to miss the rush hour traffic. It's been a long day for him - he deserves his beans now! I've just put the jackets in the oven and I think I'll do a bit more paperwork. I bought four new ringbinders on Monday and have only half-filled one of them - so much for my good intentions!

How is Master Tru - hope the antibiotics have kicked in and that he's not starving any more! Give him (((hugs))) and wish him good luck when he visits the dentist on Friday!
Anyway, I hope you all have a lovely evening, wherever you are!

anniebooklover Im really pleased with the clothes. Im busy washing them all at the mo before I attempt to try any on. we go to a family therapy session at one of our local clinics. Manily to understand childrens needs/difficulties/behaviour problems, etc. Ive just come back from an 1hr n half session. So by understanding and learning these things, it will give me a guidance on how to tackle other situations! Like "girllfriends" Im sure DS is sensible. And I can only see that she is like a tomboy, and wants to hang around with DS. if that makes sense!
stressedoutmum I hope things improve with DH. That was an awfull thing to have said and in my opinion - childish to say the least. I think I would be mad if my OH came out with that attitude!
dannahaz hope you resolve this fence issue. My neighbours only know too well about fence dispute's. Its still on-going now! Try getting in touch with your local councillor and see if they can help!

The antibiotics are working :D At last I can eat without having to hide, I felt too guilty to eat in front of him while he was hungry and couldn't eat LOL.

Items are in turbolister ready to upload to ebay tomorrow.

I haven't done much around the house today, what with the dentist, a bit of shopping, an hour in the office on the way home, the boss turning up at my house for an update before he comes back to work tomorrow and then a visit from my mum. I HAD to watch last night's CSI :D while having a sandwich. By then it was 4pm, I think that's far too late to be doing housework :D

    Hello again everyone

I love having days off w*r*!! Luckily I picked a really good one as the sun has been shining since about 11.00 am, it really is beautiful.

As promised I haven't overdone things - I have done a bit of cleaning and polishing, even gave a couple of windows a rub, pushed the floor brush around for a while, cleaned kitties' litter tray, emptied dishwasher, went into town for a paper, had some friends round for a swift cup of tea, washed some clothes... nothing too strenuous I promise!

Amanda, sorry to hear about your kitty. Apparently if you put some unwashed laundry on the line that will give your kitty a scent to follow if she is lost. They can pick up smells from a v.long distance! I hope she comes back soon, it makes me v.unhappy when my two don't come when they are called, and I don't relax until they are both back.

Annie, I'm on a bit of a guilt trip regards that poor wee Westie I saw yesterday. He's safe and he's being fed but he's not being loved (they had him in a pen with a wooden panel all around the bottom which was too tall for him to see out over without a lot of effort). I feel bad as I think my house wouldn't be right for him - I am out too much and I think he needs lots of company all day. I hope somebody else in a better position than me finds him soon.

My friends have decided to take one of the dogs from the USPCA. They have found out that the woman who handed him in saw some b**ch in a BMW 4x4 car dump him by the side of a busy road a week ago. He is an absolutely gorgeous adorable dog and he has found a fantastically good home. As for the woman who dumped him, she might think she's v.posh and v.important in her fancy car but she's no better than a piece of poo.

    VickyA, good luck for tomorrow.

    Bye for now.
