Morning everyone, at work (as usual) not really in the mood today - but it pays the bills
DH and I had a few cross words this morning - so I'm feeling a bit blue, actually I'm feeling like I'm bottom of the s**t heap, and really taken for granted - that was what we rowed about - he said for my birthday he'd spend £25 on me like I spent on him for his birthday (I lost my rag and said that about sums up how you feel about me - I wouldn't care if he only spent a fiver on something he'd know I'll like - for him it was like well you spent this on me so I'll spend that on you  ) Sorry for the rant.........
OS wise, tea tonight will be chicken curry and naan bread (HM). Need to get on with a growing pile of ironing and clean the bathroom. DD has a friend for tea, so I'll be doing sausage, pasta, broccoli and tomato sauce for their tea, followed by..... not sure what to do for pudding - don't really want to go to the shop - so I'll put my thinking cap on.
(((((hugs))))) to everyone who needs/wants oneSquares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)0 -
Good morning everyone.
I didn't post yesterday as I had another busy day but I was also feeling a little low. I seemed to get a succession of bad news from about 3 o'clock onwards and consequently had a horrible dream last night.
I'm trying to be more positive today and look at the glass as half-full and not half-empty. There is always a positive side to most things and so I need to remember that today.
My plans for today include:
vacuuming and dusting house
buying a bday present for one of DD2's friends
cooking a large pan of spag bol
looking for things to sell on ebay (10p listing day tomorrow)
I'm in w*** tomorrow so I must get a good night's sleep or I'll be useless!
Have a positive day.0 -

So I am stuck in for the day waiting for them to come.
Nice morning, sunny, OH has been out and says its cool out of the sun, he has an appointment at the local hospital, he has arthritis in his feet and has to wear insoles in his shoes..once a year he has to get them seen. We now have to pay £1 to park for an hour............

Good morning to all those who have been and all those who follow!
Another beautiful day, but I had trouble getting up. Woke up with a headache, which is really unusual for me. I didn't have anhthing to drink last night, DH didn't fall asleep woth the light on, so I don't know what's caused it.
Took some Ibuprofen with a pint of water as soon as I realised, and got up late. I've now crunched some toast and had a cup of tea and I feel a bit better.
Snowy I think DWs are definitely old style. They use minimal amount of water, heat it at a temperature we couldn't bear to put our hands in, and enable us to get on with other things while it's working.
I need to stop reading this thread when I'm hungry as MissB's chelsea buns are calling me. I. Will. Resist.
EssexGirl Let us know how your drive out goes. Some years ago I had three months of not being able to drive. First time back in the seat I was really nervous, but I really enjoyed it. And it didnt' take long for me to get back into the car without thinking about it IYKWIM.
Good luck at the dentist for Master Tru
Went to Makro yesterday and picked up 2 bottles of cream to make butter. I normally pick up 2x1litre, but managed to pick up 2x4 pint (=4.5litres). I made 3+ pounds of salted butter yesterday with one bottle, and will be making unsalted, lightly salted, and garlic butter today. At this rate the butter will need it's own shelf in the freezer. I've run out of ramekins to put it in, despite forcing myself and hubby to eat a couple of Gu puddings last week (it's tough, but we needed the ramekins), so I'll have to use Lock&Lock tubs or something for today.
Off to the gym later, when my headache has gone, and then off to price up concrete fence posts, gravel boards, and wooden fence panels. We have to do something to try and screen off the next door neighbours, as we currently have mostly a three foot high chainlink fence, and it's becoming a real problem. I really understand the "good fences make for good neighbours" saying now.
Will have to ask them if they are planning to replace the fence (it's theirs not ours), as it seems silly to put up a second fence rather than replace the existing one, even if we still end up paying for it.
But I'd be really surprised if they are thinking of replacing the fence. Theirs is a Housing Association house (no problem with that), and yesterday she was explaining that she had had to cut back some of the garden overgrowth even though she was effectively just doing the council a favour. If she regards doing the gardening as the council's job, I can't imagine that a fence would be on the agenda.
Does anyone know what HA policy is about putting up new fences on their properties? Or which part of the HA I could ask? Part of the fence is in an appalling state anyway.
Chicken Casserole, probably with cous cous, for dinner for DH. I'll be having HM mushroom soup. Made a huuuuuge batch yesterday, froze some and kept some for today and tomorrow.
BM will be on shortly, I'm trying "Buttermilk Bread" today to use some of the buttermilk from the butter making.
Will do FlyLady's "One Hour Home Blessing" (yeuchy phrase) today.
Hugs to everyone, have a great day xxx

Lunch today will be HM carrot and coriander soup. I've taken a double portion of HM chilli out of the freezer for when I get home - will do some rice to go with both portions, reheat half the chilli then when the remaining rice is cooled down it will go with the other half of the chilli for my lunch at work tomorrow.
Last night I signed up with 3 more mystery shopping companies - just for a bit of extra casual income to help me overpay the mortgage/save up for a holiday/save up for a fancy food processorOh yes, and save up for a new laptop - not that I need one, but mine is now beyond its 3yr extended warranty and I want to be able to afford a replacement when it is needed. Need to make sure I call the tax office soon though, about that and some other things.
Off to the opera this evening - £11 standing room :j :j Not quite as good as a freebie but not bad ehI didn't finish writing the review I was supposed to do yesterday - oh ok, I didn't START the review I was supposed to do yesterday
- so will make a start on it tonight when I get home, and if I don't finish it, will continue tomorrow.

Right am back!! Well have done a bit Made the phone calls, got a tablet down the throat of a very uncooprative cat, put the BM on and have done some handwashing(roll on exam time, so that I can get the kitchen floor mended so that I can get someone in to mend my WM) Post has just arrived and with it the confirmation from the court that they have served Nat West with the court papers(GULP!!) you watch they will decide that they will fight us(and its for a relatively small ammount as well!) well bring it on! Need to defrost the freezer soon and they get it sorted before exam time as we tend to blitz it and kind of pass each other on the stairs and kind of grunt at each other!!!!!! Still think of the money! Seriously we both take ages on the papers as we never ever lose sight that this is someones life we have in front of us and the last paper gets the same care as the very first one. We have also both worked for an exam board and they really do check and recheck all the papers to ensure as few mistakes as possible. Anyway rambeled enough Amanda, I used to be very involved in cat rescue and a week whilst very stressful is by no means unusual. My thoughts are with you.catowenhope you feel better soonTaplady I will try!! My goodness you have a long day! HAPPY BIRTHDAY Hillstep2000 snowy enjoy your day off had any thoughts about the little westie from yesterday?mrs mixenjoy your coffee with your friendBlind as you run...aware you were staring at the sun.
And when no hope was left inside on that starry starry night.

Morning!
Happy Birthday Hillstep! :bdaycake:
I am trying to build up some enthusiam for getting back out into the garden again. I have dug a bit every day this week (it takes my mind of the dental pain) and each bit is an achievement but just shows up the rest of the mess!
It is lovely to be out there though with just the birds (and a very lazy cat) for company.
I need to get myself over to the green fingered board for some motivation!
The fruit and veg box has been delivered, more globe artichokes to give away! but everything else looks good. This will be the last one til June when we are back home! I need to start using up what we have now! I have a freezer full of veg, fruit, butter and milk.
I am going to have a go at Wooltons pie tonight with potato topping, adding sausages for oh though!
Have a lovely day!
Catz xOur days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.
