os daily weds 18th april

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Monday 16th April 2007. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Hi Amie, hope you managed to get some kip in the end.
Good morning to all who follow

Johanne, I've just read your post from yesterday. Aww poor wee mousie... don't feel guilty, he wouldn't have known a single thing about it.

I have the day off w*r* today...whoopee!! No particular reason other than I fancied a day off to break up the week.

My old style endeavours today shall include emptying the dishwasher (though it occurs to me that a dishwasher isn't exactly old style), a bit of floor cleaning, sow some flower seeds for pots (not doing veggies as my garden is still an overgrown patch of weeds and anyway it is north facing), do some ironing, and do some filing. I am not going to be taking too hard I promise you!!

Hope everyone is OK today. Have an excellent Wednesday.

I've got an unexpected day off today :j - one of my candidates cancelled a meeting so I'm going to try to use today as a study day and catch up on my OU stuff. (Down side is that I don't get paid as it's too late to book anyone else in ) I'm also going to make some chelsea buns in the breadmaker, clean my kitchen and plant out some seedlings.

SnowyOwl, my garden is north facing too and I manage to grow veggies - I grow tomatoes in pots so I can move them around the garden to where the sun is. A bit labour intesive but it does work :D I also grow rocket, lettuce, courgettes, rhubarb and beans without problems. Chilie plants are mixed in with flowers in one of the borders in the front garden (south facing) and don't look too out of place.

Hope everyone has a great day.

    Good morning!!

Today I'm aiming to complete the whole Flylady list posted by lil_me. I'm getting most of the stuff done, but I'm being selective about leaving the ones that I really don't relish umtill last and then running out of time :D Well, thats my excuse!! So today I would like to get everything on my 'to-do' list done.

The boys beds arrive today, I'm planning on putting them up over the weekend. I'm hoping to get their old beds taken apart and up the tip before the weekend - the tip is just stupidly busy over the weekends - so I will play 'camping' with them on Friday night and let them sleep in sleeping bags in their pop up tent!!

1st load of washing is on, dinner tonight is butter bean stew and dumplings - I have some pre-soaked and cooked butterbeans in the freezer so it will be an easy dinner tonight, just bunging it all in the SC.

Have a good day, everyone. Hugs and thoughts to everyone feeling down / family problems / just need a hug.
  • Morning Everyone :hello:

Well the english exams went well yesterday, but lets see how they get on today with the maths!! I'm invigilating today as well - which I'm not keen on but its good to do now and again to see what goes on in the hall after I go.

I'm a little behind with everything OS and the house needs to be tidied, but hopefully I'll get that done tonight. The washing is out and the sandwiches are done just need to sort me & DS out then we off!!

Managed to read the thread last night and alots been happening.

Anyway have a lovely day to anyone that's celebrating and hugs to those that want/need them.

    Good morning everyone,

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY HILLSTEP2000

Well, not feeling good today, have 2 LOs here, so hopefully i will perk up a bit later! Dont feel ill, just really lethargic, but never mind, i have loads to do, so will just have to get on with it.
Yesterday one of the LOs mums gave me an old playhouse for the garden, so i put that up last night, and its looking great, so will be nice for them to play in today. I 'might' do some gardening later - the grass needs cutting and there are loads of weeds hanging around, anyone know a good way of digging up dandelions????

Well, im going to finish my cuppa, and see if i can find where my get up and go went, have a lovely day everyone,
    Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    Hi Everyone!
Thank you somuch for all my :bdaycake: surprises! Lovely to log on and find them!
Amie, you know I posted about the ex getting re-married the other day? Well my partner Stephen sent me the most beautiful card today. (H's in Lincoln on business and can't be here) It was "To the one I love" and had a CD as part of the card. uess what the CD was? Gladys Knight and the Pips, "You're the best thing that's ever happened to me" ! I cried!

Hope you got some sleeep at last Amie.

I'm only working for half a day today. Then tonight I'm going with Mum, Dad, James, Caroline and her boyfriend Craig to our local Chinese (100 yards away!) for a meal. Won't matter if I get drunk, don't have to drive!

    Have a great day everyone:T

Hi Amie. hi Snowy! Good morning! Just having my first cuppa! Weather looks more promising than yesterday although it did get better for the afternoon.

Today - lots of washing and the rest of the ironing that didn't get done yesterday. Last night's Queenie's meatloaf was delicious - enough left for a slice each with lunch and the rest of the salad and then I'll freeze the rest. Very OS. We also had Banana Surprise pudding which was unusual but very tasty with the rest of the cream that had to be eaten by today.

Still have a lot of filing to do, take photos of things I'll be listing tomorrow on eBay, post a parcel and some letters when I walk up to get the paper, plant out a begonia my DS2 gave me for Mother's Day which is starting to look unhappy indoors, wash the kitchen floor and a quick damp-dust and hoover round, do something with the rest of the sausagemeat I had left over from the meatloaf for dinner.

Got to go - OH is up so I need to get breakfast going. Have already made his sandwiches and have put the ironing board up ready.

The sun has really got it's hat on this morning - looks lovely out there and I've just seen a fox in the back garden! I love all this wildlife on the doorstep!

Will drop in again later. Have a great morning, all!
