Buy a Briabantia jar/bottle opening gadget. It grips the edge of the lid, whatever its size and enables you to use more force & twist to open it. Especially useful when you don't have a man in the house with the added strength you need to do these things!0

            Oh! I have one.
When you've opened a new block of cheese - keep it in an old bread bag in the fridge. Saves on cheese bite, the horrible crusty bits that I used to always cut off and bin.
The whole world needs to know this tip !!
And, for all you camera owners out there. If you have a dirty lens, wipe it clean with a rizla paper. It's amaaaaaazing! Cleans great.
(I'm a non washing, non peeling mushroom eater) :rotfl:0

I've done all my Christmas pressie shopping on line this year.
It's been heaven not to have to drag round the shops in the crowds, and carry big heavy bags round. Taken me much less time and less energy.
I even saved money as most things have been ordered via a cashback site.Cash not ash from January 2nd 2011: £2565.:j
OU student: A103 , A215 , A316 all done. Currently A230 all leading to an English Literature degree.
Any advice given is as an individual, not as a representative of my firm.0

I wouldn't dream of peeling a mushroom! Or ironing sheets...even t shirts just get chucked in the dryer and folded while warm, saves loads of time.
My mother used to say "Life's too short to be stuffing mushrooms" and my Nan was of similar mind, so I'm not one for messing around like that.0

Never wipe the dishes - just dragging a possibly grubby cloth across clean dishes.
Give the shower a wipe over when you're in it - saves cleaning it later.
Use a used face wipe to wipe over the sink/toilet - a quick whizz round saves proper scrubbing later!
I am a self confessed non-peeling or washing mushroom user too!0

Peel and par boil the whole bag of potatoes (and parsnips!) at once and freeze half for the next time. It makes the next roast dinner sooo much quicker/easier and stops me throwing away a half bag of liquifying potatoes every couple of weeks.
I peel big mushrooms but not small ones, if I can grip the 'frilly' bit off it comes, if it involves using a knife it stays on.Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)

I used to scrub carrotts which was messy and time consuming until I got this peeler and now peeling a carrot only takes a few seconds:

I buy dresses for work that dont need ironing. Wash, shake, put on hanger to dry then put away. Also resolves the whole what goes with what scenario - add boots, jewellery and go to work
 As an aside -I hate mushrooms lolLight Bulb Moment - 11th Nov 2004 - Debt Free Day - 25th Mar 2011 :j0

I do the sock thing....there's only me but I have thin black socks for work and the white sports socks for everything else.
(I hate mushrooms so I'd just bin them, peel and all :rotfl:)0

Rather than wasting hours and hours ironing, I just put the laundry right away. If it needs ironed prior to being worn then I will give it a quick wizz over then.
It makes my mother cringe as she is from the iron everything from sheets to socks club!0
