Both the Vulcano and Premium are 2100W.

Many of the shops on the net don't specialise, they just dropship stuff which is why we get problems on the service side and why you get inaccurate information. We get quite a few issues with appliances widely sold on the net, like Smeg. Not from Smeg, from the retailer, just try to get it exchanged if it goes wrong and you'll soon see what I mean, but you get it cheap sometimes as these people have no costs. ;)

Manufacturers have been trying to clamp down on this a bit recently as there have been, literally, teenage kids operating from their bedrooms selling stuff online.

I've also been phoning round quite a few local retailers. Again most seem to stock the Vulcano but would need to order in the premium. I wonder why the reluctance to stock the premium? John Lewis don't sell it anymore but used to apparently according to a competing retailer price-matching the vulcano.
Anyway, have you reached a decision yet, OPer? Thanks for the useful thread.

I have not decided yet as I am a bit short of cash this month. The Araldite repair on the henry has now come apart aagin, so I will have to do something real soon. :rotfl:

    I love my numatic Henry!!!
I think I must have gone through a hoover every 3 or 4 years til I got this one and had it for 9 years now and it is far the best hoover ever!!
My daughter has asthma and so I am very concious about getting all the dust and hairs up.

We've got a Henry Hound that we've had for a little over a year now, and no problems except the spring in the on/off switch broke, but we called them, and they recommended a local place, since it was out of warranty. It was a bit under £20 to get it fixed, and we probably knackered it, as we've had a habit of accidentally stepping on it and turning it on when it hasn't been put away.

The Hound comes with a special attachment for carpets, and it seems to do pretty well with it. It would be interesting to see if Which had reviewed it with that attachment to see how well it does carpets, since it's kind of silly not to review its carpet cleaning abilities without using the carpet cleaner.

We have 3 dogs (German Shepherd, lab, and a springer) and a cat.

We used to buy a new hoover once a year and have tried pretty much every make and model.

We now have the Henry Hound and its brilliant. We also have a second Henry regular for upstairs and its brilliant as well. My wife is a vet and in every vets she has ever worked in they will only by Henry hoovers.

Appreciate this may sound like an advert but i wasnt too keen on buying it as you need to replace the bags but even with all our animals we only replace them once every couple of months.

I have a miele cat and dog, upgraded from the Morphey Richards 'Pets' and the miele is worth every penny. You don't get that stale dusty vacuum odour when using it and the turbo tools pick cat hair up a treat. Much quieter motor too.

I bottled out! I went to my local electrical sales bloke and bought second hand spares for my Henry £5 and then a new floor tool £12. So I am back on the road. I saw the SEBO vacuums there. He said they were great. The cheapest was £129. The K1. Looked OK, but very small bag. I may consider it. But the Henry revamped is a lot better and I may just save the dosh...

    Hi all
AM really confused as to what vacuum cleaner to go for. When I look at these forums I feel more confused as there is too much choice out there. OFcourse price and functionality is a deciding factor but can someone help me:
We have wooden flooring in most rooms and carpets only on the staircase.
Not sure whether we need an upright vacuum or a cylinder one.
Not sure whether to go for Miele or Sebo as there is not a great difference on price. CAn someone tell me about the functionality?
