I just can't see the attraction of a bagless hoover.

It's full and you need to empty it so you go to the bin and the dust goes everywhere.

If I need to empty my Miele I lift up the cover and pull the cardboard handle of the bag. This covers the hole and the dust stays put inside the bag.

    I love my numatic Henry!!!
I think I must have gone through a hoover every 3 or 4 years til I got this one and had it for 9 years now and it is far the best hoover ever!!
My daughter has asthma and so I am very concious about getting all the dust and hairs up.

I have also had a Henry for years. But it's really only good for hard floors and cleaning the car. Lasts forever and the bags are cheap (£3.99 for 10 delivered ebay). But it's useless on my carpets.

So I also have a Dyson for carpets, and a dirt devil for the stairs. It's all getting complicated and none of them work for all. So I am hoping to get one Vacumn that does it all brilliantly. This Sebo thing sounds good....??

yes, pro cleaning companies all use bagged vacuums, does that not tell you something? And that the which report also shows (even now) that Dyson is the most unreliable? And that miele is the most reliable?

Thanks handyman. Good point about the pro cleaning companies. Miele might be the most reliable in the report but when you've had a bad experience with one, there's no way you'd spend on one again ( no disrespect to company name, I will continue to buy white goods from them).
Sebo might just be the way to go then....... Mind you, I wonder why so many cleaning companies use Henries if the reports are poor?

Is it worth paying the extra for the pet one?

Someone said they are good on hard floors but not carpets.

If you think about it, not many business etc., have carpets like you get in a home. It's all hard flooring or very short pile hard wearing carpets.

    Maybe that's why?
Here I go again on my own....

    Hi Sloughflint,

I got mine through a trade supplier. ;)

If you want I'll have a look and see what I can get as I'm sure we can probably get a hold of them. We've never sold them other than to staff but I can't see any reason why we can't.

I've never even reviewed it and I even use it!

I'm sure that a recent thing on Which Online said that Sebo was more reliable than the Miele, which wouldn't surprise me quite honestly as Miele, while still extremely good, do seem to have been slipping a bit recently. That said, before I learned about the Sebo I got my mother a Cat & Dog Miele and it is a good cleaner, never skipped a beat, but the bags are a bit pricey and I don't think it perform as well as the K3.

I've had my Miele C & D for 5 years (next month) and it's still going strong. No loss of suction, happy with all the tools, but I did break the hinges on the top cover - the one to access the tools. I can't remember when I did it, but it was a while ago and it hasn't effected my high opinion of Miele products.

Unusually for me, I signed up to the 5 year extended warranty (which is just about to expire) as it also provided a years supply of genuine Miele bags every year. Taking into account the cost of the bags, the warranty worked out at only a couple of £ per year, so I thought what the heck. (Which reminds me, it's that long since I looked at the paperwork it may actually cover me for my broken hinge!)

As an added bonus, they once sent me an extra years supply of bags by mistake, so I still have dozens of them left! I change the bags frequently, the motor filter every time I open a new box of bags and the carbon filter annually. I think this sort of routine is required for improved performance and reliability.

Looking back at this thread it started as a question on the Miele Catndog and somewhere in the middle it became a full scale which is the best VC. Just to clarify I like the catndog its the best that I have used, there might be better out there but they would have to be really good to beat the value for money that the catndog represents.
