I've had the Bosch version of the Miele Cat & Dog called "Pro Pets".

    http://www.boschappliances.co.uk/products-range-vacuums.aspx?id=1

I've a slightly older version of the Pro Pet's but it's been really reliable. It came with a turbobrush (like Miele Cat & Dog) and a general all purpose nozzle.

When I moved house 3 years ago I inherited a lot of laminate flooring - Bosch sell a wide range of accessories - and I bought a hard floor nozzle which is brilliant. I also got a mini turbo brush which I use on the stairs and for the car.

If you shop around it's quite a bit cheaper than the Miele and offers similar quality.

Thanks for all the postive comments. I was going to buy one, until I saw a forum in which everyone rated them poor on the following things.

    Perhaps you could comment?

    1. The cover which holds the tools in place is flimsy and breaks easily
    2. The vacumn loses suction when the bag is 1/4 full
    3. The bags are expensive
    4. The stair brush does not reach the edges.

    These are all concerns..... ???????

I had my first Miele about 7 years and the cover never broke. The vacuum blew up as my naughty dog chewed through the flex while I was using it, so not Mieles fault!

I've had the new one about a year and never noticed the cover being flimsy.

    2. The vacumn loses suction when the bag is 1/4 full

The only time the suction goes is when the bag is completely jam packed and needs emptying.

    3. The bags are expensive

Official Miele ones are, but you can get very good copy bags from online shops, ebay and the local market.
    4. The stair brush does not reach the edges.

Never had any problems with this, and with black dog hairs on a light biscuity colour stair carpet, it's something I would notice!
Here I go again on my own....

We also have a Miele C&D and echo all good comments above. I've never found 'copy' bags I've been happy with though. The proper ones are always far better.

I would echo that about cheap ones.and I have never found originals to lose suction until jammed full .
I hope I will not have to buy another bag again as I bought a large box at auction that contained 38 boxes of five genuine bags ..32 were FJM's which fit mine and six were GN's so the latter will be going on fleabay.:D
