Good morning, everyone! Been up since 5:30, after a good long sleep, so ready to face the day (good job as I'm doing a bankruptcy form at 10:30  ). First day back after 2 weeks off, though I did pop in yesterday (small Penguins wanted to go swimming on their last day of holiday) to check my post. No major issues, which is a relief.
DD is 14 today. She has a maths test, which she thinks is the height of *cruel and unusual punishment* We've bought her a Birthday Girl badge to wear, and she's made gingerbread people for her form.
At the weekend DH was recalling how his gran made the best Victoria sponge, which he ofter would tell his mother  So I've made DD one for her cake - all butter, and HM strawberry jam. Not made one since I was at school, so we'll see. Also made banana and choc muffins for a meeting at w***.
Cat, well done on your walking :T
Have a great time to all those off on holiday (we booked next year's at the weekend   )
Get well soon, Miss JCR!
Have a fab day, Penny. x:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -

Have a great holiday JackieO, Loubee & Scuzz, I am green with envyWe were in Florida in October and I'm already starting to plan a trip for later this year, I love the place, but this time we will do the Keys and quieter places.
Another lovely day, a trip to the garden centre is on the cards to get some potting trays, I have lots of veg growing, but no flowers, so need to get them started.
Gammon steak for tea, but they usually turn out like frisbees, so must try not to overcook them :rotfl:
Have a good day everyone, and :grouphug: to mrs_mix and others who need them xYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever0 -

Morning Everyone
Woke up at 4.30 duuno why, wasn't tired, could be still on Spanish time. Probably as I as with leg raised above hip last night and watched The Apprentice (two weeks old, need to watch last weeks tonight). Also slept with leg on pillow, I really want rid of this so will be on the settee with leg raised again very shortly, once laptop sorted into place.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS to those going off, 5 weeks before I fly off again, but a few caravan weekends before then so must get fit.
I'll try to read back a few days and catch up while "resting", but ((((Hugs)))) and good wishes to all.
mrs_mix - I think they all going into "grumpy old men mode" now and again. I ignore so much, then explode (ear defenders needed when I do) and sort it out. Luckily we can both shout and have our say but not fall out with it. Usually DH makes me a coffee within 5 mins. and its over (probably thinks its a dose of caffeine is needed by me!)
Take care all

Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -
Morning, all! Cloudy here today but hopefully it will brighten up later.
Oh you lucky people jetting off on holiday, I'm green with envy, have a wonderful, wonderful time, all of you!
Did four loads of washing yesterday and then my washing line broke   so now I've got to try and find a replacement, just what I didn't need this week, was trying to keep spending down to a minimum
Cleaned downstairs yesterday and spent the rest of the morning scrubbing out our two small fridges, they were horrendous, I'm so embarrassed! but they're clean and gleaming now, I really MUST teach myself to wipe them over EVERY week before I do the weekly shop.
As I have precisely one red pepper and a few potatoes left I need to go veggie shopping at the market today so plan to clean upstairs before I go. Then I'm off to the garden centre for a few bits, I want to start some lettuce off and also some French beans but have run out of containers:rolleyes: not sure whether this veggie growing is actually cheaper than buying it :rotfl: :rotfl: . Having a fish delivery later so need to be home in time for that.
OH has a long drive for work today so I'll be fidgety until I get a text saying he's arrived in one piece, the car is making very odd noises
Breakfast: probably toast
Lunch: hmm, some magic wrought with a red pepper and a potato:rotfl:
Dinner: steak and onions, with wedges and frozen peas
Enjoy your day everyone! Hugs to those who aren't feeling well!

A lovely and bright good morning to you all.
Its w**k today and I feel raring to go, its day 4 of my antibiotics and they must be kicking in, must say not enjoying not being able to have a glass of wine at the end of the day.
Why are kids at full volume on a morning? my ears are ringing, not even stodgy poridge has quietened them down.
Vast amount of yesterday was spent ironing, I managed to combine this with waching a bit of day time TV. Broke off for an hour to take No 1 DD for a driving lesson, still on kangaroo juice at the mo so darent take her on the main road.
I made some choc chip ice cream in the ice cream maker which managed stay stay hidden from kids for the whole of two hours.
thats about the extent of my exciting life.
Hope you ll have a wonderful day and love and hugs to all who need one.
PS all you going on hols have a great time.Who would like my last penny?0 -
