Well - the sun came out at last! Not as bright or as warm as yesterday's but good all the same:T :T :T Seemed to have spent all day in the kitchen!:A :A Made Queenie's meatloaf which looks and smells delicious - will have it cold with saute potatoes and salad tonight - can't wait! That will be followed by Banana Surprise which I found on the indexed thread but don't know who invented it. I tested it when it was still warm and it was yummy!

Managed to do some ironing but couldn't concentrate on it cos it was boring so I did a bit here and a bit there and, now I've just brought the washing in from the line, the pile looks as big as it did before I started!  Will definitely finish it tomorrow! Have done loads of paperwork so feel quite virtuous about that:A :A and I am now waiting for GDS to come round after school for his tea. OH popped back from work lunchtime and told me he really enjoyed the leftover pastryless quiche that I put in his lunchbox so that has been a success and will be repeated.:j :j

PennyPincher - hope you are better soon

Churchmouse - hope the baby is OK - quite a fright, I should think

csarina - hope your cooker fits eventually!

Mushy Peas - hope you wake up - it's awful feeling so drained, isn't it?

    Essex-girl - continued recovery

Anniestar - good luck and hope everything works out for you

Stefijib - gladd DD is OK and have a great time at Butlin's!

Rage in Eden - Good luck with the IVF - I really hope it works out for you:A :A

Wll have another cuppa now while I wait for GDS and hope to look in later. Have a lovely afternoon, everyone!

Hello everybody. Sorry I've not posted in a while but I've been finding life a bit difficult. My panic attacks have come back with avengance. Can't go on meds for them as I'm having IVF (besides it wouldn't look good would it?) and waiting list for psychology is about 8-10 months here. Sooo, I've been busy trying to do the garden which is hard when you're still off work and people keep telling you to take it easy. My avon round has also been sliding and I should have got the last campaign out but can't face it. My wound started healing just before Easter so the District Nurses could stop coming - hurrah (only a month after discharge). Going back to work at the start of May - boo - but am looking forward to it as a form of a break! I feel that there is a sense that because I am at home I can do all the work and think for other people as well (we were meant to be going away for a few days at Easter but because I didn't organise it - likewise our summer holiday which I was hoping to get a cottage in Dorest for and the ones that are left now are all beyond our price range..............) hence the panic attacks and a bit of depression. However, the good news is that I have managed to sell some of my cross stitch magazines on a cross stitching forum site. So off to Singapore surface mail they will be heading. 7 down 143 to go..... Nearly had a "turn" the other day when I found out that Mr Rage is owed over £1,600 from somebody he supplied with underfloor heating in NOVEMBER!!! Has he chased it??? I have drafted a strongly worded letter, printed it off and put a stamp on the envelope - I can't sign it as well!! I despair. Right I am off to write a letter to somebody in Japan - how exotic!!
Rage in Eden - you can always sign the letter and put pp next to your signature - it means you're signing on behalf of someone else. I have to do that for my OH when he's not around to sign letters. Obviously, you couldn't do it on legal letters but for something like a reminder-of-payment letter, it's OK!

    Hi everyone

I've had a busy day so far...got up at about 9.00 am, when the doorbell went. It was my friend and her husband - we were off to the USPCA (U=Ulster) to look at doggies. Unfortunately not for me, but for my friend. They fell in love with a gorgeous black and white collieX type, he was so incredibly sweet, and they have reserved him. I hope they get him. As for me, I fell in love with all of them, but I am particularly in love with a little white Scottie. The poor little thing was very dirty and was obviously an old boy. I could have cried for him. Would it be fair on my two kitties to introduce a dog to the house? And would it be fair on the dog to leave him alone all day while I go to work??

Oh yeah, work! My shift started at 12.30pm today, however at 1.10pm a supervisor told me that they were asking people if they wanted to go home as it wasn't especially busy. Well, I ran out that door at about 200 mph before they changed their minds, lol!! OK, it is unpaid leave, but TBH I don't really care...I happen to have tomorrow off anyway, so it's ideal for me. They owe me two days pay from last month so I won't feel the difference, the drop from last month has been "absorbed".

To make the most of this unexpected free time I'm planning to embark on a frenzy of cleaning, mopping, ironing, polishing, dusting, baking, meal planning, inventorying of cupboards, hoovering and shining...just as soon as I finish this second mug of coffee,;). Haha... if you believe that, you'll believe anything!! I'll do some things but won't go too mad..

Anniestar - hang on in there, in the grand scheme of things housework comes well done the list of life's priorities. You, your husband, your relationship and your and his health are all much much more important. I find dimming the lights in the evening covers up the worst of it anyway...

I'm really jealous of all the holiday makers amongst us. I've got no chance of a foreign holiday this year, not that I mind, I've travelled a lot in my life, and have many other things to be thankful for and enjoy anyway. Scuzz have an utterly fantastic time in Florida you lucky girl you!

Catznine, hiya! You are right, we complain about going to the dentist, but really we are privleged to have such services available (even if they are costly). Gotta keep counting our blessings...and you're off to Florida, you are also a lucky mare!!

Mrs Mix, my late kitty Henry (see avatar) used to snore, just like your dog. He really was MrPersonality. A snoring cat or dog is just so funny...

Oh I am rambling, sorry!! The cup of coffee is finished, so I'll push off now and start pushing round a vacuum cleaner or floor brush or something. Bye for now!!

    Hi all :hello:

I'm back! I popped into the big smoke (ie Peterborough ;)) to get a few last bits and pieces for when I go back to school - my new job! :j :j

(((hugs))) to all those that need them.

Those people going on holiday - you lucky things. :D

OS today has been very slack. However, I did manage to put a load in the WM. I've still got a mini-stack of ironing to do. That'll be done later when DH is in front of the computer with his revision. He's working SO hard for these exams. I'm really proud of him. :T :T His ultimate goal is to be able to find a job elsewhere. This qualification will make him more employable to other companies. It's just a shame that his immediate boss doesn't realise how valuable he is - even though other members of the company realise it.

Supper tonight is spaghetti bolognese. I got some lovely mince from the Farmers' Market at the weekend, so tonight it's spag bol and Thursday we're having chilli con carne. The idea is that I won't have much time once term gets properly underway, so this is a way of stocking up the freezer!

Just about to finish my cup of tea, then it's on with more planning for Thursday.

    Hi everybody,

Hugs to all in need and happy holidays to those away soon.

Had a nice barbecue on Sunday, changed table site, but since road changes we seem to be in full view of all passersby whether we are in back or front of house...no doubt some remedy will be found if the weather lasts.

Wonderful to be eating our own spinach, spring onions, broccoli, lettuce and rhubarb, so much of broccoli and spinach that I am having to freeze it...will really have to consider getting big freezer again if this goes on all summer.

DD2 and DGD1 are coming from London for long weekend on 26th, and DS1, DIL1 and DGD2 are also coming so hope we have some nice weather still for a couple of BBQs...DIL1 and DGD2 may stay for ten days which will be nice...she can cook and I can garden!

OH has been back to spinologist this morning, seems much better so I might get him back into garden over the next few days.

Thanks to all wonderful MS ideas, I may eventually manage to stick to spending the money in my purse and no more, paid all by bills this am on line, so I am no longer likely to be fined for no car tax, and the council will continue to take my bin, although not putting it out as often as I used to so that's a saving there.

Hope that everyone not feeling well will be better soon.

    Hello all,

I haven't posted here before but regularly read your daily thread as i find it keeps me on the old style 'straight and narrow'!! Am feeling great today as my house is sparkling from following the weekly flylady thread, there is a pork and pineapple curry doing its thing in the slow cooker and i have just settled down on here with a slice of hm banana cake and a cuppa! Plus its really quiet here as ds and dd are at their dads for tea. It doesn't get much better than this! xx

OS wise today I have managed to save you, the taxpayer, thousands by not calling an ambuance. years ago my w**k made me do a first aid course even though I am very very squeamish. Prior to this I used to panic and call 999 for what I now realise were quite unnecessary incidents. Today dd cut her foot on a mystery object (I've checked and it's not still inside her) and there was much wailing and gushings of blood but the cut has been cleaned and dressed and dd is now recovering on the sofa with some medicinal pringles and salsa dip. the last time I called an ambulance for the kids was when middle dd danced on a box of pins (she was that sort of child and was on first name terms with the A and E staff :) ) and had about twenty pins stuck in her feet. I had to carry her three miles from the hospital because in my panic i had left her shoes and my purse at home.
I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 2008

    Good afternooooooooooooon lol.

All clean and tidy here, there's a load of washing on the line - I'll iron that tomorrow.

    Have a great time Scuzz.

Master tru was sent home from work (actually the boss brought him home), he's in agony with toothache, almost in tears. I rang the dentist, can't fit him in til tomorrow morning. He's had some paracetamol and rubbed loads of clove oil on his gum but it's not working. Mr tru is getting some Solpadeine (recommended by the dentist) but I reckon it's an abcess and painkillers don't work on abcesses do they? Anyway, if it doesn't work we have to ring the emergency dentist.

I would just like one day where I don't have to worry about anyone lol.
