OS DAILY TUESDAY 17th APRIL

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Monday 16th April 2007. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Hi Amie, hi chardonnay - didn't watch that programme yesterday - did my usual trick of sitting on the sofa, knitting two rows and dozing off! Must be old age!

I had a bit of a restless night's sleep, too, probably because I'd dozed off earlier!

Amie - pastryless quiche was delicious, thanks! Have some left over which OH is taking with his packed lunch because it's the kind of thing you can have cold as well. Making sausage and mince meatloaf today which I found in the indexed collections - this recipe is one of Queenie's so thanks Queenie! Going to make two and freeze one so that'll be economical.

Well, lots of paperwork still to do but I did make a good start on it yesterday so feeling quite virtuous. Have one load of washing to do and a mighty huge pile of ironing which I'm going to start as soon as OH leaves for work at about 7.30, then prep for lunch and dinner - GDS is coming round for tea after school which will be fun - I bought him a Star Wars handheld game for £1.00 in the charity shop as well as a Star Wars book which was .50p - he's really into that at the moment so I'm sure they will keep him occupied while I get on with tea!

Can't really tell what the weather is going to do yet - it seems a bit more overcast than yesterday but doesn't look like rain so should be able to get the washing on the line, then I'll walk up to the shop to get the paper and post a couple of letters, then on with the paperwork and hope to get that finished today.

Anyway, can't think of much more to say at the mo so will have a shower, take OH his cuppa and start on the day!

Have a lovely morning!:j :j :j :coffee: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :coffee: :hello: :hello: :hello:

Thank you for the pm's. I'm onboard as of today girls.

Just having a much needed coffee or two and then off to bath the trio, breakfast and then all off to their respective destiantions. The eldest two are up and nervous about today but I am sure they will be OK. The school have a very good reputation and the class sizes are very small for round here - 19 for the eldest and 15 for DD which can only be a good thing IMO. Ooohhh I think I am nervous for them both too.

Then we are off to the hosi, that should be interesting too.

I am going to tidy up before we go. get a wash on the line, put some chicken in the sc. We nay need to get some bits of uniform for them - but it sounds pretty much the same as it was at the other school.

I hope everyone poorly is feeling a bit better today and

28f550f0.jpg to mrs-mix and anyone in need today.

Right I am off to make a second coffee and then get moving. See you all later,

    Smoky. xxxx

Enjoy your holiday JackieO, Loubee and Scuzz. xx

    Good Morning early risers,
well my big day is here at last, and I'm off on my holidays to the U.S. I am trying not to think about the flight as I am not overly keen on flying, but needs must to get there. I am sure that I will have forgotten something in my packing but I am sure if I have, I can buy it there. My friend is a seasoned traveller and never forgets anything. She even takes a small kettle for a cuppa ,she is really organised thank goodness. My eldest DD is fussing as usual ,I think she is turning into my Mother !
I keep telling her that I have reached the wrong side of 60 without too many upsets so a fortnight in America should be a doddle.
I will try to find an internet cafe to have a look at what you are all up to whilst I'm gone and maybe post a quick email if I can. I am looking forward to seeing Washington next Sunday, that is when we pick our car up and start our touring, but first we have four days in New York. All being well we will be two geriatric Thelma and Louise's trundling down the highway.
My pal and I have known each other for over 40 years and have the same daft sense of humour so we will be giggling for most of the trip. We are hoping to go to Lancaster to see the Amish people ,that should be interesting to see american OS in action .
Well I hope you all have a good couple of weeks, and I shall read all the emails if I can when I return .<<<Hugs>>> to those in need and big smileys to the rest
    Take care all

    Good morning.

I saw that programme too - didn't much like the 'beef in a jar with a bit of water and drink the juice after an hour' - ewww!! Wasn't it amazing how much food they ate ate each meal...how many courses each meal had, and how many meals to the day. I can't imagine how bad they must have felt by the end of the week!

Didn't sleep well last night, for the past couple of weeks I've woken up almost every night with really bad pins and needles in my arms - so bad it hurts. Must be getting into some weird position when I sleep!

I joined the Flylady thread yesterday! Oooo, they do work you over there :D My kitchen is looking tidyer than it has done for months, so I guess it was worth the work!

Got my stuff up on Ebay yesterday, did everything on my Flylady list, took the kids to the beach And bought a breadmaker. Too much for lazy old me!!:D

Dinner tonight is Baked potato, salad and......something. Was going to put cheese in it but it seems that DS1 found that - half of it is missing - so will have to do a rethink. I've got some chick pea curry in the freezer that was left over from a couple of days ago, that may be nice in a baked pot?

Have a lovely day today, everyone, and hugs to mrs - mixand to all who need them.
  • Morning Everybody :hello:

I'm bleary eyed again this morning!!. Very busy at work with reports yesterday and two weeks worth of mail :( When I got home, done some more gardening (planted plants that I bought Sunday and hadn't got round to planting them)

Anyway, house tidied & sandwiches done just need to sort out me & DS out. Busy again at work today with exams that are on so need to be on the ball.

Sorry didn't have chance to read the thread yesterday but hope to catch up later.

Anyway, have a lovely day to anyone that celebrating and hugs to those that want/need them.

    Morning All

Back at work for the last time for nearly 3 weeks:j One more sleep till Florida!!!:T Loubee I'll bet you're really excited too!!! Have a fab time away

I really can't wait. This time tomorrow I'll be on my way to the airport.

Had roast lamb for dinner last night, so having a bolognaise tonight with the left overs and have some of the meat in today's sarnie. Also just polished off some HM sponge and have a chocolate bar too. Must control myself and not eat everything now!!

I've got such a busy day ahead of me. I've got appointments all over the place and I'll be working till about 9pm. But plus point - I'm on holiday tomorrow. Don't know if I've mentioned I'm going to Florida before?!:D

Anyhoo, hugs to all who had bad nights, aren't feeling great, having probs at home or who would just like one

    Good morning everyone,

scuzz, loubee and JackieO - all enjoy your holidays to the states, any room in your suitcases for another one????

PP - hope you are feeling better today.

((HUGS)) to anyone who wants/needs one xxxx

Not much planned for today - still catching up on my cleaning, LO at nursery this morning, so also hoping to catch up with all my paperwork, i need to submit my tax return online, and i know i have until September, but i like to get it over and done with - and im nowhere near prepared yet!!!
Planing on keeping up the 'healthy' walking to and from school - will also plan to walk to nursery to collect LO, now we have started walking when its nice i want to keep it up, it would be all to easy to jump in the car, and im saving petrol as well, which must be good.

Cant think of anything else now, apart from im making 'special' spag bol tonight - if it works out well i will post the recipe!!

    Have a lovely day,
    Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
