Yes I claimed back £538 in collection fees added to my loan , they sent me a cheque for £262, which i wrote back and said I only except as part payment and sent a LBA for the balance, am now waiting a reply.

I have a similar problem. I am trying to reclaim my bank charges from Natwest, which amount to £900, and I am at the stage whereby I have sent the first letter demanding the money, but nedd to send the second letter threatening to tkae them to court if they do not pay up. However, I have since had an offer accepted on a house and the only people I can get to lend me the £10,000 for the deposit on the house is Natwest. If I go through with my claim they may make it very difficult for me and slap on extra interest or take the loan off me altogether.
If anybody out there has had a similar experience the advice about whether to go ahead with the claim or not would be very valuable to me as I am stuck as to what to do.

Has anyone had any dealings with a company called Welcome Finance. This is one I plan to tackle on behalf of my son. I think they are based in either Wednesbury or West bromwich in the West Midlands. My son had aloan from them, defaulted on the payments and has been charged ridiculously high penalty charges. does anyone know a contact name and address for them or has anyonehad any experience of dealing with them. I want to make sure I get the process right as they have already made my sons life very uncomfortable by calling at his house and upsetting his girlfriend and daughter and I dont want to make things worse. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank You.

dont even get me started on these robbing gits - i had a loan with them - i defaulted for 6months (agreed with them doing reduced payments) i then done double payments to make up. all in all i borrowed 2500 paid back 5200 quid and they say i still owe them £513!!! i have just sent them the snottiest letter ever asking for a full break down of costs as i will be paying them NO further money - they are a nightmare.

they are also very very underhand in the way they deal with things - if you pm me your email address i will send you a copy of the letter i sent to them - it makes good reading (not yet had a reply from them)

once i get a reply with full breakdown of costs i am going to a solicitor to see how i fight them - they charge £10 to phone you!>!?!>! i rang them and suggeted they change telecom companys as i dont know any company that costs £10 a call.

i have no idea how you would fight these "loan sharks" but they have advised me on a call they have a "new dept" as them using underhand tacics are a thing of the past (lol - i think not)

anyway im going on and on - i would go to citizens advice bureau ref them - or if you want to wait till i get a reply letter off them and i speak to my husbands friend hows a solicitor to see action i can take and i can let you know?

i can totally sympathis with your son ref welcome.

after my loan ended nov 06 - i made last payment then changed mobile number etc and have refused to take any calls or answer letters until i received one last week that totally annoyed me saying "special offer - pay us back 65% of the debt and we wil clear the whole debt off you have 21 days to reply to this special offer" (dated 20th april) then on 23rd april rec a letter saying i had 7 days to pay £513 otherwise i would owe them £1063!!!

was livid so eventually rang and blasted them - followed up by the said letter (i'll email ya the mora) and have yet to hear back as yet. they are gettin NO more money out of me and i'll even go to court bringing any media attention with it - they shouldnt be allowed to trade with the way they operate.

I have started the ball rolling on reclaiming my bank charges however I have received charges from a finance company who helped with the purchase of my car. Is it possible to reclaim the £25 / £30 fees that i encountered with this finance company

We're trying for charges from a car finance company as well, we've just sent the list of charges to them, so fingers crossed.
