To be fair, having read the small print, it does state that any changes to reg number incur a charge of £30 but this does seem a bit steep. Anyway we sent a letter to TSB stating that the car had been registered by the garage before we had chance to put the personal plate on it and they have waived the charge. :j0

Hi Lildevil.
I would simply ask for disclosure of all debit and credit transactions of any type.
The problem you will have is that Direct Auto Finance, aka Yes Car Credit is no longer trading. Most of the accounts have been bought by other companies.
I think the right course to take will depend on whether or not your partner is still paying for his car. If he is - easy - just say that the charges are unlawful and ask for them to be deducted from the balance owed. If not, you will need to pursue Direct Auto Finance Ltd. In that case you should check Companies House to see if the company is still around.
The CH web site as at https://www.companieshouse.gov.uk but is closed today.
There are support sites for victims of Yes Car credit - for example saynotoyes.co.uk and they may be of some assistance.0 -

It would appear that loan companies are just as bad as banks! An alleged £400 loan is now almost £3000 AND a charge on my property!
I'm getting nowhere with the finance company or their sloicitors, it's a brick wall.
Is there anywhere I can go for advice?0 -
