Hi all,
My mum in law rung me to say she's heard back from the court to say theyve passed the case over to Lloyds..they have up to the 22nd June to acknowledge. Hope to god they don't..there seems to be a few cases just lately where they havn't acknowledged hasn't there?
So...if they do acknowledge before the 22nd..do they then have 2 weeks to put in a defence?
Im going away for 2 weeks on the 25th June..my whole holiday is gonna be spent worrying about this!! Will I be back in time to prepare a court bundle if it gets that far?? Im worried already!

If they acknowledge they then have 28 days from the date the claim was deemed served to file a defense, if a defense is filed then it will be passed to your local court for a hearing date to be set.

Help
I filed a claim at my local county county in Bradford, Abbey have made 35% of my claim as goodwill gesture. I filed my case and abbey had until 18th June to enter a defence , today I have received the following:
Notice that Acknowledgement of Service Has Been Filed
The defendant filed an Acknowledgement of Service on 5 june 2007
The defendant responded to the claim indicating an intention to defend all of the claim. The defendant has 28 days from the date of service of the claim form with particulars of claim, or of the particulars of claim, to file a defence.
Can any please advise what I should do, prepare anything, or just wait for the next letter. What usually happens at this stage particularly with Abbey
Any advice greatly appreciated.0 -

It seems that so far they have only acknowledged the claim. so now they get another 14 days to defend the claim. ( so 28 days in total from when claim was deemed served)
Hopefully they will either settle or forget to defend, that way you can request judgment by default on the 29th day.
Hope that helps0
