send Them The Second Letter As They Have Not Given You A Full Refund Within The Time You Set But Be Prepared For Some Nasty Tactics From Barclays
1-- They Will Cancell Your Dd's And So's Without Telling You

2-- They Will Report Your Debit Cards Lost Or Stolen So You Cant Use Them But You Will Only Now This When You Try And Use An Atm It Will Swollow Your Card By Saying Unortharised Usage

I Have Gone Through All Off This And My Claim Is Still Ongoing
Sent My Second Letter Last Friday And Still No Response

Good Luck And Stick It Out

 ITS A FAR BETER THING I DO NOW THAN I HAVE EVER DONE BEFORE

  • Hi all,
I sent off my 2nd letter to HSBC bank informing them they had 14 days to reply or face court action. The reply i was given was that their legal team had informed the bank they had 8 weeks to reply to my request. Is this right? Can anyone shed any light? Many thanks!

Hi lyndalamp, just sounds like a delay tatic - stick to your time scale (14 days) otherwise start a claim on mcol.

    Hope this helps
    Good luck

  • Hi, Started out claiming my charges back almost 3 months ago now. Sent of for a break down of charges applied. Got a letter back with 2 days before the 40 day deadline. They had acctually broke down my charges for me. Sent a letter off with their break down aasking for the money back. Within 1 week of me sending this letter off, I recieved a reply saying that they have investigated my compliant, and are refusing it on the basis that I agreed to their 'terms and conditions' and that the charges appplied have been 'applied correctly'. What should I do now. Please help. The letter also states that I have 8 weeks to respond. Please, any advice appreciated.

I'd ignore it and go to money claim online, sounds like bully tactics.

The fact that it is written in their T&C is irrelevant, they are still overcharging.
This is just another way of throwing you off the scent.
Reply with template on step 4 (I think) which states you have not recieved a satisfactory reponse and unless they ate willing to settle the claim of £xxx amount you will take them to court.
Don't let them bully you, they're in the wrong.

  • Hi - I have just begun a barclays claim for £840. Today, 14 days after my original letter I recieved a letter saying:

I am sorry you are unhappy with the charges you have incurred. Your comments are receiving attention and one of my team will contact you as soon as possible.

    They go on to say:

May I take this opportunity to explain that whilst we will endeavour to respond to you within the timescale outlined in your letter, we cannot guarantee that we will do so. Sometimes it does take longer to fully investigate a complaint, however we do aim to find a solution within 4 weeks. If we are not able to do so we will write ad let you know what is happening A full report or an update on our progress will be sent to you within 8 weeks.

So what should I do now!? It seems like they are fobbing me off! Can anyone advise me of the action I should take - if any!

    Many thanks :D
If you think you can't or you think you can, either way you are right :D
