    These threads are so helpful,

Basicly I'm not making a complaint and I'm going to stick to my time scale. Only thing I'm slightly worried about is that I should amend the template letter for the threat of court explaining that the responce I've recieved is not to my satisfaction and as such I am proceeding with my claim. (all suggestions welcome.)

Must admit the letters I've got so far seem very friendly, shame I'm not falling for it!

Do what have told them you will do, in the timescale you have stated.

The 8 weeks is standard stalling. It refers to a complaint, not a reclaiming of charges.
Hamsters have no tact and diplomacy, nor do they want any.

The banks are allowed 8 weeks to respond to and deal with a customers complaint as per the guidelines laid down by the FSA. This is only relevant if you were to use the Financial Ombudsman as you would be required to exhaust the banks complaints procedure first.

As you are using the court route then there is no requirement to follow those timescales yourself. You need only show to the court that you have allowed ample time for them to respond to and deal with your claim. Follow the process laid out in the main article and timescales in the template letters. Good luck :)

    thanks for info

thanks i will follow the procedure given by martin,s site. This has helped alot
  • I have received a response from Barclays saying they will be looking into my complaint & will endeavour to respond within 4 weeks, however this could be as long as 8 weeks. Should I sit the 8 weeks out as technically they have responded to my first letter demanding my bank charges be refunded or should I now send the next letter threatening court action.

    hi all,
just asking for a bit of advice , i sent my letters off asking for my charges back all £1868of them. i thought i'd go for the 8 weeks for them to "investigate my complaint ". i have received aletter today telling me that they are satisfied that the charges have been " correctly added to my account " because " when i opened the account i agreed the terms and conditions " . shall i now go forward with the court action , the letter before action again or telephone them first ?
if anyone has been here or can help me i would be very grateful
    thanks. x:confused:

Standard letter from the bank as above, carry on with your timescale as noted in Martin's article.
