Does that mean I'm going to die?
Neither do I.0 -
Was it because the bath water used to be shared, oldest to youngest in my mums house when she was a 'child'? Perhaps they thought it wasn't hygienic for those that followed?
There were 5 children and right up till they left home to get married the eldest boy had first bath, then mum, then her sister, then younger bother the youngest sister. After each bath an extra jug of hot water was added from the range cooker. She was 22 when she left home to be married
I did wonder if it was somthing to do with that but then I thought firstly, why wouldn't the person with the period just go last...and secondly, why would anyone keep up with that when there was no longer any reason to?0 -
I read somewhere that you shouldn't wash mushrooms as they absorb water and go soggy.
I peel the top and trip the bottom off the stalk.

I don't peel mushroom either, although I wash them and I do eat the stem but I cut off a little bit of it. I've always done this, never asked myself why until now!0

Your inside is a lot more sensitive and kind of 'opened' during period, or at least that's what I was told. It was believed the dirty warer would be unhygienic to you. No idea how true that is.0 -

Hehehehehe, that reminds me of a friend who told me that air killed sperm. I did ask her whether she thought she had a vacuum instead of her usual bits!
Nothing is more open during your period, if anything you have to be more aware of hygiene to make sure nothing untoward stys in there0 -

Yes, more aware of hygiene... Suppose dirty water after 5 people were washing in it kind of counts?
My OH hates baths (I love them) as he says it feels like washing in your own dirt..:-))0 -

2012 and people still don't understand menstruation.
Still don't understand why you wouldn't wash your hair even if you believed any weird ideas about women and water during menstruation - it's not like you turn into The Wizard of Oz's Wicked Witch of the West and melt! :rotfl:A waist is a terrible thing to mind.0 -

No, neither do I. But then I never knew anyone doing/saying that.0 -
I peel mushrooms and clean throughout the house before we go away. I go through the wardrobes too as the majority of the stuff we dont take with us we dont wear anyway (so it gets chucked). This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
