  • A quick google.fr search reveals an average price of about €14,- for Moltex Oeko nappies which is about the same as here.
  • Try the Benedicta 'mayonnaise citron'- Lemon mayo. Fantastic with fish, chicken and salad.
Tins of biscuits and choccies at Christmas good value. Brilliant on Easter stuff, not only eggs but home decorations like table cloths, napkins plates etc- like Christmas but fluffy bunnies and chicks.

I always go for the biscuits, cakes, bread, mayonnaise (Maille brand), juice and cassoulet

as my husband and i lived in france for a while we found the following much cheaper
if you are thinkink of changing your bathroom - taps, showers and funky sink units are far better and cheaper
my husband was in 7th heaven as tools are dirt cheap
food wise - mineral water, jams and preserves, coffee, good chocolate (especially for cooking) different vinegars, good quality stock cubes and flavourings
near to christmas nuts, dates etc.
the list is extensive but check out Brico Depot if you want bargins for DIY but if your with your husband or partner dont expect to spend less than half a day in there

    Hi Pippo,

Would you mind sharing which restaurant you went to and how to get there. Thanks!

We love shopping in france, and as well as the obvious wine/beer and tobacco, we have purchased washing powder, shower tray, chlorine tablets, extra virgin oil, bacon flavour tuc biscuits, fruit puree, mont blanc, water, camping equipment, clothes and computer equipment. :rotfl:
I work for Tesco and whilst they will accept your clubcard card in Calais it is purely to see who is shopping there, you won't get points.

We found out by acident that many over the counter pills and potions are significantly cheaper than here. French chemists will also tell you about generic equivalents without asking.

Little pots of pureed apricots/apple, Amora mustard mayo, jams, brie, french butter and normandy/brittany cider and calvados. We also like the Chenet wines (in the wonky looking bottles) although they're now often on special offer over here.
