  • i have just received my bank statements from bank of scotland (I am claiming in scotland) they are from 1999-2004 and a covering letter tells me i cannot be supplied with info on manuel interventions on my account as HBOS does nt store this info when i called the included number i was told tht Bank of scotland merged with halifax in 2004 and that all charges from 2004 relating to excess overdraughts etc were manually entered or typed or phoned to me and that hbos do not record this info therefore they cannot supply me with charge details from 2004-2007 .the charges on my account fromm 1999-2004 total £3300 should i apply for the whole amount or the max of £750 in scotland and what can i do about these manuel interventions sorry this is so long but i really need your advice thanks

Apply for the whole amount. This is good news for you. If they say they don't record manual interventions, they can't use this in their defence if you get as far as a court case.

  • I have sent LBA to BOS regarding charges on my Business Account totalling £995, plus interest, and received a reply today within the 7 days I gave them for a response. Thier initial letter offered a refund of £60 of charges relating to 2006 (I've been a good boy for the last year). I refused this, and redrafted the LBA to include this refusal. I think that their reply to the LBA however is a bit of total hogwash, but then, judge for yourselves.....

Your letter has been passed on to (me) as Deputy Team Manager to respond to. Your comments have been noted but I have to advise you that we are not prepared to make a full refund for the reasons stated in my colleagues previous letter of the 16th January. In your letter you made references to the Unfair Terms in Consumer Contracts Regulations, however, our Legal Team have advised that these do not apply to business accounts.

I think this is total BS, as I think i read on one of the threads that the regulations apply to ALL accounts, but I may be mistaken.

Anyone give me some advice on this one? Am I right or are they trying to frighten me off. Their 7 Days following the LBA is up on Monday 29th Jan...

    Regards

    Nigel
  • Nothing concrete posted as yet in the Business Account thread but have a read and I would also suggest you look on CAG :)

    Halifax PLC
    Data Protection Officer
    Halifax Card Services
    Pitreavie Business Park
    Dunfermline
    Fife
    KY99 4BS

    Much appreciated

Cheesed off! I sent a recorded letter to the above address, for Current Account statements, not knowing that I should have sent it to the Trinity Road address. I've rung the Customer Relations number and no-one has received it, its not on their system yet Royal Mail told me it was delivered last Wednesday! So I guess I will have to send another recorded letter, to the Trinity Road address this time. What a waste of a week!! :(

The data protection address is the correct address for requesting your statements.

I just noticed this address after answering the post above and am checking out this address as I'm not convinced this address is correct for Halifax BANK as this is for Halifax credit cards. To ronthewhite, if you haven't already sent your request please hold off meantime and to Kazipoo I think this may be why your request hasn't been actioned yet.

I am a little confused now!
