I had actually made my 1st approach to the bank of scotland 8 days ago with my £10 cheque, so 1st, would this still count, and 2nd, does anyone know if the Bank of Scotland are difficult to deal with and is there any difference as they are under Scottish Law. Replies PLEASE ASAP.
Bank of Scotland are now termed as Halifax Bank of Scotland (HBOS) and so you use English law as you are based in England and HBOS have an address in Halifax.
You need to give them 40 days to provide the information/statements and then you can start your claim. Please read the Reclaim Help Thread which is linked in my signature for all the information you need to start your claim and have a read of other posters in this thread dealing with HBOS.0 -
and I am cacking it:D
I have not had to deal with a court before, and all the officiousness (sp) is very daunting!!
All I hope is that I get the dosh back and I can take the wife and kids somewhere on holiday...........£2500.00 should give us a week somewhere lovely!
this site is great, and i'm sure its been said millions of times on this forum, but a big thanks must go out to Martin, the people who help him run this site, and the other users of this forum, for giving the 'little guy' like me, the balls to take on the big boys!!!
group hug, everyone!!!:D:D0 -
I have just called a different number, and spoke to a completely different person who says they will process my claim for me as i said i was unhappy and had only accepted low offer for speedy resolution during a very poor month financially. He essentially asked me if i wanted to claim for any more, so i said yes, if he can process it and ask for a revised, again, offer of £1000 to be paid into my account ASAP. He said he would get someone to look at this as soon as....
Too good to be true and just telling me what i want to hear to shut me up!!!
I will weep tears of joy if this works out for the best!
Well i'll be damned!! They have my my previously aggreed amount £650! But wierdly enough, not into the account in question, but my current account. (Now i thought they could only pay it into the account it related to!)
I'm delighted, was aiming for £1340 plus interest. They offerred me £455 which i declined as it wasn't even 50%. They said they calculated it as less than me. So i accepted 50% based on MY calculations. I wish i'd been strong enough to hold out for more but i couldn't budge the guy!!
I have another account going through the motions, i don't expect it to have much on it, but wish me luck!
Onwards and upwards all!!! You will get there eventually!!! Now i'm off to pay some bills!!!
I can feel a couple of zero balances coming on in my debt freewanabee list!! whey hey hey!!!:beer:I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0 -

I managed to get my final offer by sending two letters (1 asking for statements and 1 asking for money back) I made several calls (one saying re-evaluate, 3 chasing re-evaluation) received my 50% offer letter and final call to negiotiate full amount (no interest). this was all from April to July, so be nice and be patient it took 7 weeks of re-evaluating before i had an offer.
Hey everyone just checked my account and £5353 from Halifax has been credited to my account. Once again thanks to everyone who's helped me on here and to the man of the moment :money:0 -

Right well here we go. Just this minute finished MCOL form paid 120.00 and so it begins god help me lol still scared by the way.
I just wondered what proof the courts will ask for????0 -
This is a standard letter Crescent, just ring the number on the top of your letter stating you are unwilling to accept that decision..... Everyone gets the letter, it's just their way of buying time by saying no, cause at least they have meet their repsonses times by replying to you.
Be brave!! Fight on!!!I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0 -
