    Hello all,

I am at the end of step 4 (letter threatening court action) and I have heard nothing whatsoever, is it worth a phone call or do I go straight onto step 5?

    Thank You

I need to find out my charges on a bank of scotland credit card that is now closed, what is the address I should write to for a list of charges and then which address to request the charges back?
  • BOS Amount claimed- £2335.17 (interest and court fees)
    Refunded - £2335.17
Have just recieved a letter today saying money will be in my account in 5 working days!!!!!!!!
Just to say to everyone- dont lose your nerve - keep going. I wrote 1st letter 28th Feb
followed by 2nd and then MCOL issued 17th May. They offered half the amount. 12th June. 17th June - sent cheque back refusing anything but full refund. Settled 20th June - the day they had to put in a defence.
  • I,ve been trying to claim back £6912 from the Bank of Scotland and have just had a letter being declined. I gave them the letter threatening court action and I have also sent a form to the financial ombudsman with all the necesary info. Does anyone think I'll be successful I'm starting to loose hope been waiting since March.

Im sure you will be :D it's just all the stalling the banks seem to do, they drag it on forever. You should hear back from the ombudman soon and hopefully they'll be able to get you a good offer of settlement

    Good luck :j

  • Having considered the possibility of reclaiming my charges back for some time, I finally decided to take some action today. I had requested my statements a couple of weeks ago, and they came through promptly (I requested them in a branch, and it cost me £5). Until now I had assumed that my charges were to high to have any luck (£932 charges), however having perused this site I see not!!

Consequently, I am now requesting refund of the £932 bank charges, plus £101.32 interest. I shall keep you updated on the progress (first letter is going into the post tomorrow!)

AM feeling quite excited about this now :D
  • UPDATE:: Halifax haven't recieved my cheque yet haha. They will however send me a list of charges over the last 6 years with no expense to myself. Apparently they offer 30% then 50% and see how you react, I think the lady I spoke to wasn't sure what she should tell me lol. Anyway will be back soon with an update again I hope :)

I sent my first letter of begining of June and on the 25th June recieved a letter saying further to my recent request HBOS has decided not to charge a fee for request of this ty[e and a refund was sent back.
They then went onto say that they aim to provide me with the information i requested within 40 days blah blah blah.

Is this normal to send the £10 statment request money back - have i done it wrong - or is this a new ploy to their saying NO NO NO
    Please help
