    Good Sunday morning from NZ.

Nearing 7.45am and I need to throw some clothes on and take Arsha for a walk. DH is away watching V8 car racing this weekend so I'm really just cruising. Actually I'm still trying to catch up from not being well last weekend. Slept all yesterday afternoon!!

Kittens were both neutered on Friday, so keeping an eye on them, but they seem fine.

I guess a spot of housework would be in order today . . . the usual laundry, changing of kids beds, tidying the kitchen. Bathrooms probably need doing too. Maybe I'll make it 10 minutes in each room . . .

Weekly menu and grocery list to do and finances need sorting today, also.

Slow and steady it shall be

Good morning Denise hope you are feeling better. Hope the kittens have a quick recovery.

Catowen, if you lived closer I'd definately have taken you up on that offer! But thanks, the thought that counts as always.

Bath was lovely, but now downstairs and the tele has been highjacked. Dp sat leg in the air taking up the whole sofa saying nasty words at the Playstation game, oh joy! So I've decided to go on eBay :rotfl: he'll sharp regret ignoring me

I had done meal plan but now I can't find it, so will have to write out again. Bet I threw it in the bin when I was on my flinging mission in the kitchen :o
One day I might be more organised...........

    Evening folks.

I am so poopered today, but still make time to pop in as it is one way of forgetting my troubles and chilling out.

    I've been mega busy today:
    • strained chicken stock from SC - portion in freezer, portion in fridge
    • stripped our bed and cot
    • remade both
    • washed all the bedding, plus babies comfort toy, as it was a bit soggy and sour smelling
    • washed a load of DH's clothes
    • washer going again with some of babies stuff, plus the football tops my two nephews were wearing, but covered in pizza, and as she is at the hospital i brought them home to wash for her so they weren't ruined.
    • At mums house, i washed 3 loads of towels, plus my brothers school shirts.
    • I went to the hospital for a couple of hours
    • i babysat 2 out of 3 nephews for 5 hours, then brought the youngest one home with us, although thankfully his dad picked him up at 9:30 as he is not good at sleeping, and was starting to get a bit grumpy after he has barely eaten all day  anything proper that is
    • cooked dinner
    • fed cats
    • sorted out mum and dads dogs
    • run my brother around
    • made sarnies for everyone who was at mums house
    • bathed youngest nephew
Thankfully DH has been helping out, but i am so glad we don't have more children at the moment. Although all have been superbly behaved, the stress of entertaining them, and feeding the fussy little blighters. At least our child eats what he is given, and under no circumstances will he ever get away with picking and poking all day and then not eating his meal.

No change at the hospital, but it is basically take it hour by hour. I feel utterly useless in these situations. Charlie is a good excuse for me to not feel like i have to sit at the hospital all day. Mum, dad, both sisters plus grandad have been there all day, and at least i feel i have been useful by taking care of laundry and childcare. Life goes on regardless, and they are all exhausted as this will be the 3rd night with little or no sleep.

Might sound harsh, but i wish the situation would be resolved soon one way or the other so we can all get back to a bit of normality, and the suffering for all involved ends.

Thanks for your good wishes, and i had a chuckle reading maralums post, and that is just what i needed.

    Michelle, x

Doesn't sound harsh at all just very human and you are definitely NOT useless. You are giving your family the peace of mind they need at this time by taking care of the day to day things. I hope things work out well for all of you.

Michelle, sweetie, you are doing your best for everyone, so don't beat yourself up. I was in a similar position this time last year when my FIL was in hospital, and felt awful as my OH had to do nearly all the visiting (we have two little ones, one of whom was breast feeding at the time). The strain of looking after FIL had almost split us up before he became so ill. Sadly my FIL passed away after two or three weeks in hospital, but in the end it was a relief, although tremendously sad because he was so ill and so many of the things he enjoyed in life had gradually been taken away from him.

You can't go to the hospital with Charlie, as it really isn't a good idea to inflict all the bugs on a little one whose immune system hasn't fully developed yet, so you are doing your best for him. You are helping your family to spend time with your Aunt and making life as easy as possible for them, so you are doing your best for them. Your Aunt has lots of visitors who love her, so you are doing your best for her. I wish I'd had a family member like you around to support me last year!

It's horrible seeing someone you love suffer and to see the pain for the rest of the family, so it's natural to want to see the situation resolved, you aren't beeing harsh at all. I went through months of feeling like this. Make sure you talk to lots of friends about it for support and to keep things in perspective.

I hope things go as well as possible for you and your Aunt. PM me if you want any further support. :grouphug:

Anyway, here in Mermaid's grotto the sun is shining, so I'd better go outside and hang out the washing that OH left in WM yesterday and get as much of the house tidy as poss before we go to a BBQ this afternoon (with a quick stop at toy shop on way to buy a new brio train for DS, who has developed a HUGE crush on Thomas the Tank Engine).

Love to all and happy flying/relaxing* today.
