Welcome home Pigpen, we have missed you. Park sound fab, I usually do that when the house is perfect and I don't want mess. Also on Vista when I use the laptop, some of it's a bit weird but not too bad

oldMcDonald, thankyou, this thread is what it is because of the members, new and old.

Kiwi and Shirley don't worry you're not alone. My DP is on his way to get a PS3 cable, with a strapped up leg as he fell last night (I got a call at 4.30am saying get dressed and come outside) he tried to jump the fence, forgot my old car radiator was there and went over on his ankle. I had to help him in the house, he's 6ft4 and I'm 5ft3 so that was funny. Anyway he's not going to work as can't drive so has conned his brother into taking him to get a cable to have a go on his games machine, when the kitchens still upside down! If I leave him to look after the kids that is all he does, I have to make a meal for them before I leave, bath them etc. I have come back at 5pm before and they haven't even had lunch, why, because Dad doesn't do it usually so they don't even ask and if they don't ask he forgets. I do worry about if anything ever happened to me. He's washed up twice in 10 years and cooked once. Just to give you an idea. Don't say he works because he only dos 3 evenings a week!

A way that can work wih partners which my friend loves is a 'honey to do list' a list along the lines of if you have time can you do this and please cross them off when done. No additional moaning required, if they say what do you want me to do can say 'look at the list' I am restarting one for DP with the DIY jobs I have been waiting over a year for him to do! No kidding set of drawers took 2 years for him to build!

    Anyway enough moaning

    So far

Found new place for fish tank - will refil once I get new cable
Been shopping - stuck to list apart from duck eggs, couldn't resist
    Vacuumed through
Delegated PC room to kids (their room, PCs and games so why not)
3 loads washing, 2 dry one on line (but probably have to finish indoors as cold here)

    To do today

    Put rest of shopping away
Find homes for other things in kitchen hmmm tricky one that
Fling boxes off things DP has kept, he keeps boxes does my head in!
    More laundry, booo!
Wash cupboard tops in kitchen (high ones) when I find stool
Meal plans after soring and listing freezer contents
Hide DS xmas presents I bought early, they were stashed in hidden cupboard
    Laundry away
    15 mins undies sort
Make evening meal, chicken kebabs I think with cheesecake for pudd
    Washing up
    Kids bathed and to bed
    COLLAPSE IN A HEAP!
One day I might be more organised...........

raspberry and white chocolate muffins and mocha squares they sound yummy! I've got a terrible sweet tooth at the minute. Those jobs sound like more than enough for a weekend catowen, I wouldn't be doing (well planning on doing once I get motivated) what I am if the FF wasn't getting delivered on Monday!

Mmmmm those mocha squares sound delish.

Because I've been flying these past few weeks and been getting excellent inspiration from others the house it looking better than it has for ages and those extra jobs are slowly getting done as well.
Today whilst I had an hour to myself I emailed my friend in NZ. So far this year I had only managed one email in early January. I have now written a note in my diary every 6 weeks to email her so I can keep in touch a bit more regularly.

Met DH and DS after they had been to the cinema. DH had to go onto work so I took DS to the park in town where we had a picnic lunch and played for two hours before popping to a couple of shops. Needed to buy new pillows, another little job sorted!:T

Hope everyone is ok and enjoying the weekend.
...it is not of more importance than daily life, which I have an enduring wish to make as useful and beautiful as possible.

Eventually managed to email the dailies tick box lists for those who requested them. Sorry about the delay.

On my PC upstairs thought I would update

    [STRIKE]Put rest of shopping away
Find homes for other things in kitchen hmmm tricky one that [/STRIKE]

Have also found a new home for the fish tank, fixed this PC, for now anyway. DP decided to set Playstation 3 up so I said if ankle is ok to do that he can give the TV cabinet a thorouh clean inc behind too which he's done  did get the kids to help him. He's also helped DS1 tidy his room up a bit and put their TV up (finally been on the floor 3 months) so I am in shock!

Anyhow he's setting up the PS3, I can hear the children offering their wisdom as to where the wires go :rotfl: so thought leave him to it and I'm running myself a nice bath! Just the boys to put to bath and put to bed later and the laundry if it's dry that is on the airers.

    TTFN :D

    Hello all,

Catowen, all of the flyladies now have drool on their keyboards - it's great motivation to clean the pc's. :rotfl:

    Today I have:

    Hoovered throughout
    S and S'd the kitchen
    S and S'd the bathroom
S and S'd the sitting room
    Done all my dailies
Made encouraging noises and played gopher for DH and FIL while they put up the new light fitting - the other one was hanging from the ceiling by its wires!

Have eaten 3 iced lollies, one portion of butterscotch angel delight with crushed chocolate digestives on top and 43 olives. All in an effort to avoid thinking about toothpaste. I love toothpaste. I want some right now. Sorry to all rat-lovers, but this is a story that may upset you. My dad says that there used to be an inhumane test on rats called an LD50. They would take 50 rats and see how much of a product they could eat before they died. Not very nice, but he now assures me that when testing toothpaste on rats, the effects were almost negligible. In his words :"The only way toothpaste would kill a rat is if someone bopped him on the head with a pack of it." So, I have the go-ahead to eat as much toothpaste as I like from my dad, but my mum still thinks I'm bonkers. :D

Have been out walking with DH and DS - the sunshine was lovely again today. That reminds me, I forgot to put the washing out and will now have tp put the TD on. What a waste, I was too busy having fun to notice! Have a good day all and I hope the sun shines for you.
