Just a quick post to say thanks to everyone who contributed to this thread over the past week.

My home (whilst still nowhere near as perfect as I would like) looks tidier than it has for a long, long time and my kitchen and bathroom look fantastic.

Thanks for all the lists, support and just the feeling that I'm not the only person in the world battleing to keep a household running. :)

    * [STRIKE]tidy living room[/STRIKE]
    * [STRIKE]general tidy of master bedroom[/STRIKE]
    * Do dishes, clean kitchen (it's grotty)
    * Sort out washing out on line

    That's about it.

I'm all done and it feels great, I'll be pottering this afternoon probably as everyone's out today and I'll be on my lonesome and end up bored so then I'll potter :D

Have a good day folks! x

Still lovely here. I've got the grass cut this morning and done the edges properly with a spade. Swept up but a bit of a waste of time out the back because neighbour's cherry tree is pretending it's snowing. Looks pretty and messy at the same time!

One load of washing on the line, drying well.

On my own all day today so I'm half trying to think of things to do so I'm not bored and half just enjoying pottering.

And listening to My Chemical Romance without DH rolling his eyes :D

AAArrrgh  Get ready for a rant peeps

2nd day back at work yesterday. DH looking after kids, same as Thurs. Thursday DH took kids into town am for work related bits then was home for lunchtime and pm. I worked really hard at the beginning of the week to strip the wallpaper in the lounge/diner. He finished half a panel of stripping, sugar soaped one & 1/2 walls, loaded DW and TD. Didn't sort anything for tea but I didn't mind as he'd worked.

Get the feeling you know what's coming :rotfl:

Yesterday sum total of his day at home... lunch for kids, load WM !!!!!!!!!!!! Play on B****y XBox for rest of day !!!! Aaaaargh  Then he wonders why I get annoyed

Is it just me or am I expecting too much. MIL reaction when I've mentioned it (not ranted) in past has been "aah well he works hard during the week he just wants to rest at the wkend!" My reaction "so when do I rest then?" She just looks blankly at me and changes subject! I know he works hard I live with him but I also know our house & garden is the only real financial asset we have so it has to be kept in good order.

Anyway rant over and thanks for listening :o

I am now going to put WM on 2nd time then start sugar soaping the rest of the walls ready to fill cracks ect tomorrow.

    DW on
    Washing out
Downstairs loo & upstairs bathroom swished

    Hi All,

Had a great day yesterday, the flat looks better already, can't wait to see how it will look after I've been doing this for a few weeks!!! Our flat is always generally quite tidy but I find getting motivated to do the other things, like having a clear out, washing down the paint work etc - those kind of jobs, a big pain, so I'm hoping coming on here will help me get this sorted out!!!!

    Today I'm going to be:

Tidying up the living room, DD got up early today and there are toys everywhere!!! the dog's been chewing on stickle bricks so need to get the vac out too lol

Give the toilet a quick once over and out some bleach down and mop the floor.

Give the kitchen a wipe down and vac and mop it.

    make the beds

Do a load of washing a get it dry on the line, looks like its going to be nice here again today

Must remember to get chicken out of the freezer for dinner tomorrow.

Was supposed to be visiting my mom this afternoon while OH goes to footie practice but not going as Me and DD aren't feeling too well.

Going to make a shepherds pie for tea tonight so will get cracking on that this afternoon, instead.

If I get chance, I want to go around the place and polish all the mirrors and glass on the cabinets too.

Still need to phone BT about direct debit. Sorted the water one out already this morning.

Hope everyone has a great weekend and big hugs to all of you that are having a rough time at the mo.

First load of washing dry and put away, throws from living room washed and on the line, cats blankets in the machine.

On a roll! (I hear it's due to rain next week so I'm making sure I'm up to date)

Victoria sandwich on the cooling tray.

*looks round for stuff to do*

Too hot in my back garden to sit out, might take a chair out the front and read but I always feel a bit on show out there.

    Hello everyone!

Welcome Newbies and hugs to all that need them!

At work today so not much flying but have left DH with list of a few bits that need doing.

House still looked good this morning, mainly due to the fact that I was out with the littles all yesterday afternoon so they did really get chance to create chaos! We spent the afternoon with my Dad round at my parents bungalow (which we are hoping to move into) painting fence panels while he mended/replaced some.

Going to ask Dad if we can put the trampoline up in their garden as dont fancy having to take it down again when we move, and if our attempt at putting it together on Monday night is anything to go by it will be a nightmare anyway.

Right back to work (well after a browse around on here!)

I have returned.. windows vista installed and not too different to XP..

Thursday I took tiddles to the park for most of the day so we didn't make any mess!!

Friday I did absolutely NOTHING.. no washing or anything.. I loaded the DW and that was all!!

Today hubby has to take his lappy to the PC world in York for a system recovery as the stupid thing formatted itself last night.. yes of course it was my fault.. isn't everything? The worst part for him was it wiped ALL his work files and left all the junk he had downloaded and all the rubbishy files he didn't need.. Sod's Law isn't it?.. hopefully PC World will excel themselves and recover his lost files.. that might make him smile!

I have to do a run through most of the house again as it is bit of a bear pit.. the childrens rooms are really bad!! They are their job though.

I may just need another cuppa today.

Lil_me.. thanks for the PM.. yes everything is fine I just couldn't get online.. especially after hubbys lappy upped and died! I am so bad breaking his things.

I have the same problem with my BF. Though he's out of the house for less hours than me, most of the time he does !!!!!! all. He used to cook, but unless he wants to eat he doesn't bother cooking, so now I'm ending up doing a good chunk of that too grrrrr!!

I have discovered the only way to get him to do something is to ask him to do something specific, and then not nag him about it.
