MSE irritations...

.....What, if anything, do you find annoying about MSE? Is it the trolls? The AE's? Do you get irritated by the moderation on the boards? Or is there nothing that annoys you about this site?

Personally, I find it frustrating when I never discover a resolution to a problem/question that may have been posted. You know the situation, so and so posts about a problem they have and gets loads of advice and support but then the thread drops off and I never find out how the problem was resolved. I know I am probably guilty of this myself, but sometimes I do wonder what happened with *insert user name here*.

people who post asking what my irritations of posts are :p

Lol no only joking, yeh i have agree, I haven't been here long but I find it hard to keep track of threads I was interested in, nothing you can do about that with it having so many members. Obviously the trolls to.

The other thing that annoys me is how some of the "higher post count people" can really flame a newbie when they ask a perfectly valid question, yes it probably has been posted before, but what takes more effort - answering it and perhaps linking to a previous thread or having a go at them to use search. Its likely to put new people off who may one day have made a good contribution. I was a reader for a long time before I started posting and I think that was the reason.

    Anywho...

I also need to add having my threads moved without so much as a by your leave...especially this one. I don't think it is a suggestion, more an idea for a discussion....

I don't think the trolls are any worse than the flamers. It's only that some of the worst flamers are heavily disguised as regular members that they seem to get away with it. I find it funny when the same flamers have the cheek to complain about the trolls ruining the site, they honestly don't see the irony.

(not directed at the OP btw)

Now I'm confused - it's not hard. What's a flamer? Can someone also tell me what a troll is, I think I know, but then again...............?

You can discover more about a person in an hour of play than in a year of conversation.

Trolls usually come onto a website and post threads to suck people in. Flamers can be known members who repeatedly post deliberately inflammatory messages to basically start a row.

They are similar but Trolls tend to be short lived and flamers tend to be more long term.

Are they censored by admin or automatically by the forum software?
