Thanks for your reply. Your comments were noted. Sorry about the vehement repetition, but unfortunately that is how bad I am feeling about being constantly unemployed, having tried EVERYTHING to obtain employment.

If things continue to go on the way they are, in the end I can see myself doing one of three things:

    1. Relocating.
    2. Starting my own business (a step which is becoming more and more attractive by the day).
    3. Totally giving up altogether (but then again, the LAST thing I would want to do is to resign myself to a permanent life on the dole!).

Trugheo, I'm very familiar with the area you're referring to (and the wider region). I've lived in it, worked in it, hired and fired in it (and been hired...and once been fired!), and almost everyone I know has also been through the jobs market of this region, for better or worse.

I could cite any number of examples where I've seen people I know being recruited into jobs in the area, including long-term unemployed people. However, I won't bother, as it's no use - you won't soak up any positivity from it, your reply will likely be borderline aggressive, and WILL INVOLVE LOTS OF CAPITAL LETTERS.

Good luck in your ongoing quest, but there's really no need to post essentially the same thing every week or so.

Where text is hidden in white so no one can see it but it's picked up by an automatic scanning device looking for certain words such as KPI, audit, management accounts, payroll, Agresso, Sage 50, deadlines, etc

Only the largest of organisations use computer scanning, so this will be irrelevant for most applications. Even if the keywords are picked up, a manual sift before interviewing will see your application rejected if your cv does not stand out, and from what you said on a previous thread, I do not believe it would.

    1. You spend money to relocate and in the end your luck hasn't changed. Always better to find a job before relocating.

    2. You start your own business and end up losing money because of the recession. After losing this money your quality of life is much worse off than it previously was as now you're more dependant on the dole.

    3. You give up and end up lazy, depressed, and die early from depression. Another statistic.

Lol. Every act comes with its potential consequences. Be prepared to face them. Don't want to put you down but I rather you didn't expect too much from such drastic changes, and if something goes wrong you can't handle it. Maybe if you do do something drastic it might work out. Who knows.

So why have you not done it already? It seems that you think a lot about things, but don't do a great deal ...

It's a huge risk. You need money to run your own business. You need to find customers who will trust you enough to overlook your non-existent company reputation. You need to compete with existing reputable brand name companies. Competition is fierce and the recession isn't helping when customers don't really want to spend money.

Regarding the word "think", don't you think that's reminiscent of that famous statue?

Have you had your c.v's and covering letters looked at by some-one who hires on a day to day basis?
Life is short, smile while you still have teeth :D

I wonder how I got my last job if it didn't stand out.
