Blasted Employers Snubbing Long Term Jobless People!

Computers have perfect memory unfortunately... and they read really quickly.
By the time a real person looks at you're probably looking at 5-10 CVs... which will get cut down further by the time it actually gets to the hiring manager.
Yeah I know - that's my point.
I was trying to get Miss Sarah to try and work out what a grid was all by herself...but it seems others couldn't wait!If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0 -

'Probably' but not at all companies. Like I say my old boss spent two weeks reading cv's just going 'yes', or 'no' to the CV giving them about 20 seconds of reading. One was not even in English.
If such as thing as scanning takes place I have whiteboarding on my CV so you would think it would be picked up but obviously not.0 -

What do you mean by "whiteboarding"?0 -
Trugheo, I'm very familiar with the area you're referring to (and the wider region). I've lived in it, worked in it, hired and fired in it (and been hired...and once been fired!), and almost everyone I know has also been through the jobs market of this region, for better or worse.
I could cite any number of examples where I've seen people I know being recruited into jobs in the area, including long-term unemployed people. However, I won't bother, as it's no use - you won't soak up any positivity from it, your reply will likely be borderline aggressive, and WILL INVOLVE LOTS OF CAPITAL LETTERS.
Good luck in your ongoing quest, but there's really no need to post essentially the same thing every week or so.0 -

What do you mean by "whiteboarding"?
Where you write keywords at the bottom of your CV that are likely to be picked up as a positive by automated software, but you colour the text white - so it doesn't make your CV look naff, but computers will still pick up the buzzwords.

No - scanning means 'looking at the CV quickly and working out whether it is going in the bin or not'.
Me thinks you are trying to be too clever and missing the basics like actually putting in black type what you CAN actually do in relation to the actual role that you are applying for.If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0 -
Oh no its ALL in black type what I can do and have covered in the last 10 years.Sambucus_Nigra wrote: »No - scanning means 'looking at the CV quickly and working out whether it is going in the bin or not'.

Everyone can easily fill their CV with random buzz words. Employers are not stupid. They will scan through your CV and if it's not relevant it'll get binned. E.g. someone can claim to know payroll, but said person has no payroll work experience nor recognised payroll qualification. Therefore said person must be lying.0 -
They are not random buzz words at all - if they were reading it too or looked at it in person they would see I have 6 years payroll experience. It's in detail there on my CV.Everyone can easily fill their CV with random buzz words. Employers are not stupid. They will scan through your CV and if it's not relevant it'll get binned.
