Thank you very much, you're too kind. Lovely words to hear when I'm tearing my hair out over work0 -
Nothing much to report, usual OP of 137.59 has gone out. No more money coming in until Sept, so money will be tight until then, but determined to keep OPing.
Summer project going okay-ish, I've hit a wall of blah and demotivation. Will need to get my !!! in gear. Very hard and different from what I thought it would be, but still interesting.
Trying to eat more healthily (spelling?) and had faux-Chinese takeout today, teriyaki beef with noodles, carrot and water chestnuts. Yum yum. Bought ingredients to make home-made hummus (houmous homous ?) so looking forward to that to. Om nom nom!0 -
Awesome results, well done.0

Thanks Alchemilla
DD has gone out for month, mortgage is sitting a few pounds over the 55k mark. Once interest is added it'll be roughly £200 over, but means next month we should break the next thousand mark (especially if I go put coin bags in!)0 -
Oh - and my wedding band arrived today. It's starting to feel very real :eek:0

Day 3 of eating healthier... not going so well. I feel RAVENOUS. Give me all the things and I will eat them. OH has cheese puffs in the cupboard which is a killer.
Today I've had:
Breakfast:
1 slice of toast
1 slice of toast with a bit of cheese
Cup of peppermint tea
Lunch:
Green tea muffin (low sugar one but still yuuuuum)
40g of melon bread
Tracker peanut bar
Cup pf peppermint tea
Dinner:
Hotdog and bun, with mustard and ketchup
Carrot sticks, little hummus
Peppermint tea!
Looking at the list, I think I'm eating too many carbs and not enough protein, hence not feeling full. I've also drank a lot less than usual since I was out. Also ate badly cause it was yummy food delivery day
Mortgage wise:
Reading Martin Lewis' email had made me think about remortgaging again. Problem is, we are only a hairball under 85% assuming purchase price is the same as when we bought it, we have done up the bathroom but walls don't have wallpaper, skirting boards half-stripped, flooring not down etc, I don't know how these things would affect price as we're only half way through decorating. So LTV would be pushed up!
Another thing: I'm a student now, and on less income than I was when we took out mortgage, so would we fail affordability check?
So I don't know if we might just have to stick with what we have0 -
Day 9 of eating healthier
Tbh, never kept to a healthier diet for so long. Which is kinda pathetic, but I'm proud of my 9 days. Noticed that things I would eat without a second thought taste so different already, like sugary drinks etc.
Dinner today:
Beef ham, 1/6th of pitta bread round, tenderstem broccoli, asparagus, peppers and lettuce.
Money side, not much happening, nothing coming in, more things that I would like going out, but still healthy. Looking forward to September and SAAS returning! But all in all, I have no regrets about quitting job, I'm so much happier now.
Need to tidy up this weekend, little sister coming to stay next week.
Research work - not going so well, hit a wall. Supervisor is away just now so no one to ask for advice. Really need to get in gear though.
Anyway, hope you are all enjoying the weather a bit more than me, I cannot take it!

Got my grades. Above 90% for each module. Bring on next year!
Yay! Sorry I've only just caught up with this, but that's fantastic. See, we told you you would do brilliantly. :T:T:T:T

Hey Loisy-woisy
Glad to see you back. I was wondering where you were, but didn't realise that English holidays didn't start until July! Scotland is usually the end of June.
Project is generating computer models and analysis of radiation induced bystander effect in cancer treatment. Basically, current treatment does not take into account this RIBE when determining cancer treatment. In low doses of radiation, out of the number of cells killed, up to 90% can be caused by this effect, so better understanding and modelling could help better treatment. Etc etc
Sister has been over for few days now, and I'm exhausted from driving her about, picking up after her etc. Having kids must be a million times more exhausting!
My internship starts in about 3 weeks!! I reaaaally hope it is cooler by then, I've heard London gets really hot0 -
