Unfortunately the OP is too defensive to help. I'm out.

goodness me what a silly question, what were you doing in the road ?, she already said she was crossing it lol!

Also a solicitor wont be funding it, they get paid by the insurance companies.

I agree re losing pay, as it happened in the normal course of your work it might change their policy.

I was in a car crash in November 2010 and I was paid out in July 2011 - I went through my trade union who put me in touch with a firm of solicitors in the next city who I must say were quite good.
However my claim was very cut and dried - driver admitted liability to insurance company two days after the accident so by the time I spoke to the solicitor we already had concrete proof of liability. I'm awaiting investigation at the minute into an accident I had recently so may well have to make another claim - wish you luck.

  • So people ask why you didn't see the car, and you jump on the defensive?

People here don't have to help, we do it as a hobby / time soak.

Perfectly reasonable question IMO. I'm fed up of pedestrians walking out in front of me and expecting me to slam on - instead I fitted air horns. Much more effective. Puts an end to kids playing 'chicken' in front of me anyway :D

Only if they win, which on the current evidence looks unlikely.

And if it is truly an accident, there are no grounds to claim compensation.

Or as one of the ambulance chasers slogan goes "where there is blame there is a claim".

Once a pedestrian has stepped onto the road they have assumed right of way. Ask a driving instructor/highway code, etc.

Utter garbage ! This line is peddled by the ambulance chasing fraternity hoping to drum up business from people like the OP.

Suggest Maestro and the OP actually read the Highway Code (which isn't actually the LAW anyway)

Why are you all giving this girl a hard time?
If I were asked, why didnt you see the car, it would put my back up too- there cant be an easy answer to that, or the accident would have been avoided. If we had a special all seeing awarenss 100% of our lives, accidents would never happen.
and I bet the driver would say, I just didnt see her , I dont know why!

To those who slag of ambulance chasers, dont forget the real experts who fight for large life enabling awards in the aftermath of spinal injuries and brain damage caused by road and industrial accidents.
