Reputable compensation company to claim from after an accident?

Hi does anyone know of any reputable compensation companies to claim from after an accident?
I was hit by a car while crossing the road during work time, as part of my day to day job. (I now have a broken arm and foot and am signed off work).
At first I wasnt keen to go down the route of these companies but due to the lack of financial help from my company and only being entitled to SSP, I don't really have any other option...
So, has anyone made a successful claim from a good company before, or have any advice or wisdom to offer on my situation?
Any advice or opinions would be greatly appreciated, thanks! x

ambulance chassers r us?Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

Well, useful advice albeit unrelated... Maybe I should have been more specific

"Ambulance chasers r us"? Hmm I'm doubtful! Anything useful?0 -
I would magine if you google accident claim companies or similar, you will find loads. Some you will recognise the names as there are loads of adverts on tv for them.
Do you have any details of the person/car that hit you, such as registration number, name of person etc?
These claims do take a long time so don't expect anything quickly. A car drove into the back of my car back in february & i was off work for some time, but i'm still waiting for the claim to be completed. It takes such a long time so dont't rely on immediate payment, although some companies will try to claim interim payments to help out.0 -
Oh sorry to hear that..
I have googled, and that's why I'm needing advice, there are so many it's impossible to know which ones are reputable and which aren't.
I've also heard they want you to be better before they start processing your claim so they know if there is any long term damage etc.. And then claims take months but better late than never hey...0 -
And yes I have the persons name and number, I think the police also took a statement0

Can't advise on any company. But avoid any that say quick payout.
As any injury claim will not be quick a payout. As it takes time to asses any long term damage caused.Never ASSUME anything its makes a>>> A55 of U & ME <<<0 -
If you have any pre existing legal assistance on any insurance (household for instance) policy's or are a member of a trade union you can contact them. Failing that if you have any family members that have had any claims successfully dealt with then you can ask them. Failing that I used to work as a self employed claims investigator (insurance fraud) pm me and I will suggest a couple of companies.
Just as an aside as well - If your employer does happen to pay you whilst your off or you receive any state benefits you will be rquired to repay them from any successful compensation claim.0 -
Was the driver at fault?0

Thanks everyone..
As far as the driver being at fault, well I guess it's debatable. I didn't see him and he didn't see me. Generally if a pedestrian is hit it's the drivers fault though. Pedestrians have right of way. It's what car insurance is for I suppose....0 -
