Have you tried claiming back these charges, how much do they amount to?

Yeah I agreed she def needs to claim the charges back if you take a look at the main site there is a section on claiming back charges which is step by step, Im afraid im not very technical so can't post the limk but if you look under the heading "reclaim £1,000s" its in there. Good luck! :D
  • not too sure on the total amount in charges, going to get her to phone them up and get copies of the account activity. think the route of claiming them back is the only option as they won't even help her when she's asked for it! thanks for the advice!
  • i claimed back my charges with GEMoney - Dorothy perkinscard - I asked for £210 ended up geting £210 plus about £80 interest. At first they said they would only refund a small amount, then I took it to the FO and within 5 weeks I had my refund so I would say go for it!

What year did your charges start? The FOS couldn't help me as they started before 2007.

  • They started in 2006 and went through to the end of last year. The FOS said they couldnt help me with the ones in 2006 but I still ended up getting all my money back. You can try the Finance and Leasing Association, The FOS told me about them.

Yeah I went through the FOS with one of my store cards. I had written to my provider and had been told I had no chance of gettin them back. Once I wrote to the FOS I was offered a partial settlement. I didn't get it all back but anything was better than nothing.
