I don't reply regularly to texts, emails, any type of social network message, poke, or private message.
Usually its because I can't be bothered. I'm the same with my home phone and the front door - just because I have these things doesn't mean I have to answer them or be at their beck and call.0 -
Frequently, and for a number of reasons.
I might not have credit to reply.
I might not think it needs an answer.
I might be busy at the time - for example, if my phone goes off at work I will usually have a quick look to make sure it's not important but I don't have time to be sending messages. Same if I'm out with friends or my OH, I might have a quick glance to make sure it's not urgent but I think it's quite rude to be texting while you're having a conversation with someone so I'll leave it until later - and then sometimes I will forget.
Unless it's a specific 'needs an answer' question that someone is texting then I don't think it's that big a deal.0 -

That is what drives me mad about texts. Someone will text me a message that really doesn't need a reply, but will then moan I didn't reply to them. You can end up just sending endless meaningless texts that just say "great" or "okay" etc.0 -
I regularly ignore things if I'm not in the mood to talk to people, but then again, I also don't answer the door unless people have arranged to come round at a set time.0

I think the joy of electronic communication is you can decide when and how to respond. That might be immeadiate and frequent, or later.
If it a good friend and I am dealing with stuff and cannot reply in detail I will send a 'holding text' or email telling them I will get back to them when I can...and an indication of when that might be.0 -

Most of my friends know I find texting laborious and boring. They think I will read them though, I always say...sorry...I read it but you know me and texts?
All friends and clients know if it's urgent or important email me and copy in dh.0 -
I'll reply to most texts.
Unless they're a joke.
Unless they're a statement.
Unless it's someone I can't be bothered replying to.
Other than that I'll reply.

Good manners to acknowledge a text at least . I do sometimes forget but I have four children so my mind is elsewhere .Obstacles are things a person sees when he takes his eyes off his goal.0

Only a handful of people text me, and it's always to arrange something social and specific. We don't bother with electronic chitchat."Save £12k in 2019" #120 - £100,699.57/£100,0000

I am quite bad at replying and I am a 20-something with no kids that has her phone in her hand way more than I should
- usually for the internet though!
Main reason is that ever since I got a touchscreen phone my texting has plummeted- they're blinking annoying to text on in my opinion, so replying to a text is like a chore to me. Bring back buttons! Also, I am not good at small talk in general and I don't get up to much so when my mates text me "what have you been up to" and the like I do wonder what good they'll get out of the reply "not much"
Texts asking me time specific things do get replied to appropriately. 0
