Of course, some sellers don't need a dashboard to tell them how bad they are.

I'm amazed how good this sellers stars were - and how many negs ebay allow before taking action.0 -

That puts you below standard which means you absolutely must take steps to address it. I had reason to call ebay yesterday and when they asked if there was anything else I took soolin's advice and asked about stars. I said a was annoyed about 2 x 1* for dispatch and P&P left on a Wednesday for an item posted at actual cost, sent 2nd class on Monday. (How could it have been quicker?)
The ebay person said not to worry because all accounts are reviewed on 20th of every month and all unfair stars are removed.
I asked he to repeat that, to confirm that they checked 'all stars on all accounts' and removed unfair ones. Yes she said! I said it was bought on Mon and feedback left on Wed. She agreed this was unfair and told me not to worry it would be review and removed.
Well we have had 3 x 20th since February and it's still there. To which she said, well OK, my account was good in every other respect so not to worry

I have had one lot of stars removed automatically at review- but I suspect in that instance it was because buyer always left poor stars and was triggered by his account wrecking habit. Others on here have also had stars removed on the review period- but it is extremely rare.
There is a bit on the expanded dashboard that shows what has been removed, right at the bottom of the page.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. One of my accounts had one lot of low stars removed automatically - meaning all my accounts are low star free.
I think your right that the buyers habits may play a part.
Also, if someone leaves a low star for nearly all categories - it probably stands out.0 -

There was some discussion a while ago on the ebay buyer boards where buyers had been warned about misusing the system. When one phoned he was told that his 'habit' of leaving very low stars across the board with a positive comment was an abuse of the feedback system. If something is so bad to warrant all low stars then it does not warrant a positive.
That's why I am careful where I leave the very occasional poor star. If I am unhappy only at item quality then i would only leave a low star in that category after contacting the seller of course.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Hi, this comment caught my attention - on friday I kept getting a restriction notice when trying to list new items, and haven't been able to list anything since.
I found it very odd that I'd gotten restricted *just* as the free listings weekend this past weekend was due to start. But as far as I can tell from looking at my seller dashboard, there's no reason why!
I'm a new seller but I have 100% positive feedback so far (24), and my seller performance numbers are all above 4.70 (lowest is 4.71), so why would I be getting a restriction? Thanks in advance for any help
I now have to wait for an email from eBay apparently, and they're certainly taking their time with it!0 -

It is not 'funny' that you suddenly can't list befiore a free listing weekend. Reviews start on or around the 20th of each month and can take a few days to go through , hence restirction towards end of month.
4.7* on so few sales is quite bad but you should have got through as standard, there must be something on your expanded dashboard then. Have you checked everything, low stars in any category, policy warnings open cases etc?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Thanks for your reply. I just thought it was a bit coincidental at first, that's all.
Looking at my seller dashboard, everything seems to be fine - policy compliance is high, I've had no warnings about anything, there haven't been any low stars, no cases have been opened against me. Nothing immediately apparent is wrong that I can see.
If 4.7 is bad then I need to address that right away. Just out of interest, what is the very minimum to get through as standard? So I can be sure to stay well away from it.0
