I don't really get it, as far as I'm concerned all items have been 'as described.' All items have been dispatched within the agreed 24 hours, and I end up getting 4.7!?

Do I have any cause for concern here? My overall rating is 'standard' - no joke I regularly take a hit on postage charges!

Your overall headline stars are getting low, the p and p particularly is looking worrying, ideally you need to be running at about 4.8 to be comfortable. Your figures suggest yiou are a small seller, so you need to be particularly careful to get as many routine 5* as you can. It might be worth making use of the free listing weekends and using free postage for a while. Even despatch could take a little boost, what do you quote for you posting times?

As for stars, unfortunately despite many threads on here with sellers assuring each other that we can charge what we like and stuff the buyers, it doesn't work that way. You will always get someone who marks you down for no reason.

One question though, you don't use signed for on small items do you as anecdotally that can hit your stars.

Easily missed. I've read the title a number of times and always just read it right lol.

I send stuff signed for but I never sell anything stupidly cheap, I always state it will be sent that way in the description even though the postage part says that anyway and I never charge what it costs me to send it signed for. I charge standard or less.

I'd say it's probably one person who marked me down and I haven't had any 1 or 2 star ratings. I'd say it might have been for a larger item I sent as I could only send it RM but I didn't charge anywhere near what it cost me. Charged what you'd expect a courier to charge (if that).

I get not eveyone knows the cost of postage so I guess that may explain it. Still, that doesn't explain the description stars.

Thanks for the replies. My dispatch time is always within 24 hours of purchase. I don't always use Recorded, but every item has arrived. I believe overall I have provided a very good service (plus they got really low prices,) and am becoming a bit tired of the increasing demands put on sellers.

As far as I'm concerned this rating system is flawed, I should have a 5 for dispatch time, as soon as an item sells its my priority the next morning to dispatch the item. I've also even charged less for postage than it cost! Though I have to admit, some may have been slightly over.

As you mentioned, I am indeed a small seller. With my P+P rating at 4.6, at what point can Ebay take detrimental action against my account?

I think I'll just now list everything as 'free postage', and add the cost to the value of the item.

You need to find an item or a collection of item numbers with 10 ratings but no low ratings. When you have 10 your report will be generated.

If there are 10 with no lows, then add one item number at a time to that report until you find out which is the offending item.

Have I missed a change to star ratings?

I always check mine using the method above but for the last two weeks the new number is not counted. (I have a perfect 11 and add another, the report now always comes back '11 ratings received')
Today I made a new 11, thinking maybe one had gone out of date, I used the item numbers from my last 11 feedback and the report came back '0 received' your need at least 10 item numbers....etc

Has something changed so stars can no longer be checked? I have found on occasion that the most lovely sounding feedback does not always reflect the stars which are left.
