  • For anyone who wants to see it, here's that episode of Watchdog http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b01p3zh3/Watchdog_Daily_Episode_15/ The item on Paypal starts at 13:28. It's basically about victims having transactions and accounts blocked for nebulous "security" reasons.
  • Hi,

What do you guys think of these stats? Where can I improve?

I am now doing a lot more free P&P listings as the P&P rating isnt great. I think I am close to TRS status.

    Thanks,

Your p and p stats will exclude you from TRS as the limit is 0.5%. What are your numbers like to give you such a high percentage of lows on your p and p?

  • Hi,

    Postage and packaging charges
    1.05% (4)

Last 12 months is 380 sales.

Used to sell cheaper stuff which looked shiny in the pictures but was a bit crap to be honest. Also used to charge actual P&P cost - lots of buyer remorse I guess.

It has been getting better as I am selling better items and most of it is free p&p, so the bad ones are going outside the last 12 months.

Its amazing how few low stars gets you out of TRS, but they want literally the best sellers in there.

Keep an eye on your dashboard though as if all the old poorer stars fall off soon you might be able to get PS , and once you get thatimis only a short step to TRS.

You mustn't get any more though, so make sure you keep checking your dashboard regularly.

Ok thanks - I am a powerseller already (not sure if that really gets you anything nowadays). From the look of it its just the P&P stopping me getting TRS.

Free P&P seems to be working as you automatically get 5 stars, and if they pay a bit more to upgrade to 1st class delivery then the value they see as postage on the parcel is far more than what they paid to upgrade if that makes sense. E.g. they pay an extra £1 for 1st class and see £2.70 when the get the parcel.

    Thanks!

    Gary.

I bumping this just to try and raise awareness of the expanded dashboard. Please can we all get into the habit of checking it and as soon as we see any issue, however slight, arising we deal with it. We are going to see more and more sellers banned for minor issues if we are not careful and if sellers do not appreciate what their dashboard is tellig them.

For instance, a quick look at trending data will show what stars 'most' of your buyers leave you. That should be mainly 5*s, if not, then why not? Work out why, deal with it and get back to getting mainly 5*

This thread has proved very useful to me. I have taken on board the helpful comments and advice. Having found my trending data, I think I will have to wait till April or May for my low p&p stars to disappear. I was using recorded delivery then, but stopped a couple of months ago, having read this thread. Having not properly read the advice on dispatch, whilst marking items as dispatched within 24 hours and posting the same or next day, have not revised my listings to 1 day dispatch - will be doing this over the weekend.

One thing I noted from looking at a report I ran yesterday was that none of the buyers had left star ratings, but got automatic 5* for p&p as am offering free p&p as advised here. Is it possible, that because a 5* for p&p is automatic, buyers don't bother with the other ratings?

    Thank you soolin.

    Happy holidays.
  • Just checked my dashboard. 2 people giving 3's for postage. The items cost £5.30 to post, the shipping label show this and that's what I charged them. I think the P&P star should not exist. It's not my fault postage is so high.
  • Do you need to be concerned with the 3 month ratings or just the 12 month affects the performance?

My 12 month are fine but 3 month is creeping up to the 2% mark for dispatch time (funny considering I post within two days, but you know what some buyers are like...)

I think the 3 month figures are only a problem if you are an enhanced seller and assessed on that frquency.

However, it does mean that you get caught up in the 'must keep selling at volume' malarky so that the past 3 months poorer scores stay watered down .
